Glad to hear that your daughter is getting pretty well with the Glenn Doman's cards.  As for my daughter, it's getting harder to keep her focused on the cards these days, but I will not give up and I believe it will get better when I move on to the other stage.

想請問你寶寶已看了多少中文或英文字咭呢? 應該學到多少張字咭才開始做一些組合的字呢? 例如:紅色的褲子。還是要看bb的年歲來決定呢? 事關我囡囡還未到一歲，而她現在看了近150張中文字咭、150張英文字咭、1-100點數咭及做了"加、減、乘"法, 除法正在進行中(全是GC印製的)，我相信如果進行順利的話，過多半年便會看畢字咭，但這時我囡囡只得歲半，我應如何安排呢？

I agree with mamalily.  I suggest you visit their website or in person at GC office to look through the materials.  To me, the encyclepedia is far less useful than I expected.

聽見您囡囡近期學習進度理想，相信您必定花了不少時間和心機呀！至於我囡囡，她似乎對字卡及圓點卡的興趣比以前減少了，但我仍然沒有放棄，只好待她情緒高漲時才給她看。老實說，我最近比較忙碌，我原先計劃於上兩個月便開始給她看片語，但一直沒有時間預備教材。我的囡囡至今已看了超過四百張字卡，圓點方面，亦已進入兩式算式。
至於何時開始看片語，那就要看看您囡囡的學習進度了，我相信150張卡應足夠組合不同片語字句。跟據杜曼於書中的見解，片語後應可進入短句、句子，最後是自製書，我想到半年後，您的囡囡大概可看到短句或句子了。

謝謝你的意見，其實我囡囡都唔算對字咭好有興趣，只屬一般，她最愛百科咭，而我覺得她亦愛聽我唸咭上的字多於看咭。我想大約再看多100張字咭才開始片語，因為囡囡仍然非常好動，會四圍爬爬，又愛東張西望，我也只是在她每次飲奶時看閃咭。另外，我準備開始重組字咭的結構，因為現時她每次要看四組咭(包括中英字咭及圖咭)，每組10/12張，打算把中文及英文字咭由12張加至15張及分3組。

除此之外，我亦開始使用Ready Readers，它內裡的書雖然較容易撕掉，但幸好囡囡沒有做想撕掉的動作，這可能是她在平日看硬皮書時知道書籍是用來揭，不是用來撕的。她愛聽cd中的歌曲及一些配音(如海獅跟進水中的聲音)，但她仍未有好大的專注力，現階段亦沒有期望她能學懂什麼，像字咭一樣，只是給予，沒有期望，抱著平常心去做。

Hi mamalily and other mommies:

I’ve started the flash cards since about 2 months ago.  My daughter is now 15 months old, the progress is pretty good.  She could differentiate dots and pick the right word for the picture.  Yet she could only speak less than 10 words, e.g. baba, mama, yummy etc.
I am not sure if I have to worry about this.  What should be the expectation on adopting GD’s way.  Is it that it would stimulate kids’ right mind subtlely and show more obvious benefits through accelerating kids’ learning curve only perhaps after 2years old, and wouldn’t come out with obvious results like speaking words?

I talked to a mother whose daughter is 16.5 months old could speak more than 40  -  50 words.  She stopped using GD’s way, and uses materials like “first step to reading” that comes with DVD and lots of pictures as well.

What do u think?  Should I use both ways? Looking forward to your sharing.  You can PM me to discuss further if u think it’s more appropriate.

我都有相同疑問....但我囝囝只有6個幾月大，即時看了150張卡，似乎也是太細去學片語....

Hi how are you?  Great to hear that your daughter is going pretty good with the GD's cards.  About your concerns, well in my case, besides GD's cards, I've also used First Step to Reading, Kids ABC, Phonics Kids and so much more, even before I've started GD's cards.  My daughter, who will be 18 months old, can speak a few words and mainly in English.  Probably because we don't often speak to her in Cantonese at home.  But believe me, after using GD's cards, my girl has more interests in reading books and shows great improvement in both listening and reading.  I would say that GD's method definitely has a positive influence on my daughter.  For example, it took almost a week for her to memorize the key words from the books but it takes only a day now after using GD's cards.  In my opinion, every child is unique and his/her development is different from each other's.  So don't worry and be patient, the result will be very encouraging!  If you still want to discuss more, please pm me and leave a tel. no.  We can discuss it on the phone, if you don't mind!!!

According to GD's book, there is no need to show the cards of "+" or "-" when showing equations.  But in my case, I did.

請不要擔心您的寶寶是否有能力或是否已學會，相信他，孩子的學習能力很高。我想只要您在實行杜曼教學法時，只在乎給予您的孩子，而您倆能享受當中的過程，成效最終有一日會看到的。
