The 2nd-in in Dec 2018, that just for HYPS. For non-HYPS student, 3Jan2019, should be for sport student and not for top academic student.

This makes more sense as I doubt if the school can really select those with top academic results without knowing the entire hk students ranking precisely.

小女的確無頂尖學術成績, 雖曾於11月中去了運動的選拔, 但一直無音訊, 應該落選了.
在上星期六收到email通知這星期尾見, 不是1月3日見,  亦不是協小,

你女女應該歸類運動人，但唔代表運動人唔可以係top academic student 嘛！ 可以兩者皆是嘛！

You are getting 2nd in because of sport.

About HYPS case or non-HYPS case, i may be wrong. However, I am quite sure that this round is not for TOP academic students. This year has been changed. I know the Top 1 and Top 3 in the form who haven't got 2nd in. I also know that they were doing very well during first in. However, only the sport students got 2nd in email so far (except HYPS). Thats all I know. :)

My information is coming from one of the three private schools that most of the people mentioned.It will be great if someone can share any top 1/2/3 in the form (non-HYPS)  and without sport got 2nd-in email. Thanks. Then i can correct my view.

以往都係咁， 去過sport test當中，而又入選2nd in的, 就安排最先有得見？Anyway, 會平常心，盡力而為。

No, that is not what I mean. I mean currently, the students got second-in - sport related (except HYPS). Even top 1/2/3 haven't received second in email.You can correct me if you know someone gets second-in but no sport backup. Thank you and much appreciated.

If it is the case, it does not sound like a change.  This is the same interview pattern as last year,

I knew one case last year, no sport and got offer before Xmas 2017 (non-HYPS)I am not sure whether any pattern. I just want to point out what I observe this year. Hope that clear. Thanks.
