自修去考igcse然後赴英讀AL,可行嗎?

請問我兒子現在讀緊myp，還有2年半升讀IB,是否需要自修Igcse8科，兩年後去英國讀Sixth form。這樣去報U給的conditional offer會好的？ 是否真的要自修八科？有無推介讀那八科？他想可以去英國讀醫。謝謝。

1. IGCSE 或 GCE AS 唔一定要有．
2.如報 IGCSE ，最好報６科或以上．
3.GCE AS 比大學參考好過IGCSE
讀醫最好讀4科AL, 唔好讀further maths

用myp成績不可以嗎？

Not sure he finished S4/5 in HK, but for sure that his entrance year for Y12 was according to the UK school year age as the school strictly follows this. I guess his did 8 iGCSEs was that the minimum requirement to study ALevels at the school for was 8As including Maths and English, and the subjects he applied to read must be A. The A Level course was 2 years. So it is very important to check the requirements of the schools you intended to apply as each school differs.

我也未弄清楚，AS 的 Maths 及further Maths 是怎樣計的？
小女是在英國讀sixth form, 沒有考GCSE, 正考慮是否報AS,謝謝

firstly, thank you.

regarding AS, we just follow the school's practice, and I think it’s for Math AL it’s still AS + A2 as an official practice. I know some schools and students would volunteer to take AS exams (not counted in the final AL results though), but my son did not.

in his case, his school made them take 8 papers in lower sixth summer, 6 papers for Math which means they had completed both AS and A2 for Math, and then 2 further math AS papers.

That’s why my son actually got to pocket an A* for Math already.

Tks for you information. That means, you son no need to take the 8 units in the coming year. Say in other words, your son only wants to take 4 units for further maths?

yes my son is going to take 4 modules of  Further Math this yeae, he may take the classes of 7 modules but just do exams for 4.

你好，我仔9月都會過英國讀sixth form AL, 他現在中4，想問問你仔讀3科是修什麼? 在大學入了什麼科? 因我仔想讀 med 或 精算，不知是否要修4科至5科才能有兩手準備，他打算修phy,chem,bio,maths + further maths, 但又怕他不夠時間，謝謝!
