我好同意 ZEN 的寫法,  我囡囡學校部份同學都有這問題,  但在英文學校差不多兩年,  很多初期由唔識聽講至現在嘗試講及聽得明講解,  這是很大的進步,  不過你仔仔學校真係多功課,  但轉校是最壞打算.

我想今年轉校重讀二年斑O羅,佢話係呢間學校返學好開心係唔鍾意默書,測驗,考試,佢係學校同同學相處得好好,同高年級既哥哥又好,所以佢應該唔係有呢D問題出現,加上係屋企既時間係無人理佢架,因為得呀爺睇住佢,基本上係屋企做咩都得,佢係對英文比較抗拒,中文同數學都可以,你話又有咩計仔啦???

但係我發覺我仔仔既水平係差到一D好簡單既生字佢都係唔識架,你地所講既三年級會好轉,係點好轉法呢???我琴日再問過佢之後,佢都話係到讀得好開心,不過唔LIKE DICTATION, TEST,EXAM....

我相信無細蚊仔真係會好鐘意做功課的。加上你仔仔只得爺爺睇住，更加”的”唔起心肝做功課。
我仔下晝都係一個人加個賓姐係屋企，初時都唔自動自覺的！開學初期成日等我放工先做，做又無心機！之後我決要訓練佢既自理能力，我同佢講，每人有自己既責任，爸爸媽媽返工搵錢，賓姐姐離開自己仔女係香港照顧你，而你唯一要做的只是做好功課溫好書同埋玩。
我跟佢協定，我放工回家之後唔可以再做功課，未做完咩第日咪照交囉！要面對老師的是佢唔係我！成個下晝既時間由佢來安排，可以玩、訓覺、睇電視、做功課…總之我唔再”horn”住佢陪住佢做。
呢招真係掂喎，自始我回家之前佢自己安排好，因為佢怕我收起未做的功課！不過賓姐同我講，佢好多時都成4、5點先開始做，仲有時玩到忘晒形跟住好”滕雞”急急做！
睇吓咁做得唔得？

前段時間, 經常為我囡囡唔做功課的事, 大動肝火, 雖然佢只係k2, 但我就想依家開始訓練佢依著我的規定做功課, 例如, 回家即刻做功課, 做完功課才可玩, 結果佢做唔到, 另我好唔開心, 後來, 我只好換一種方法, 就係好似麟媽媽一樣, 唔理佢幾時做, 總之在我回家前做晒d功課, 結果這個方法就work 啦. 這幾天我都好滿意囡囡的表現.  :

我都覺得絶大多數小朋友都係貪玩的, 真係要諗個好方法來管教佢地.

既然你個仔咁抗拒英文，我想你要認真考慮下佢是否適合讀英文小學！你話佢Maths無問題，但Maths都係英文教喎！佢對word problem又有無困難？如果佢可以handle word problem，就可能吾係英文問題，會否佢接受吾到今年個英文老師的教學法呢？但如果你真係覺得英文追吾上，我就advise你想清楚，因為上到P.4時啲science真係幾深，我小朋友開頭讀science時都幾辛苦，好彩佢本身對呢科好有興趣先overcome到！你有無同老師discuss過係St. Jo repeat P.2 instead呢？

好多謝你地大家既意見,我個仔仔一點放學返黎食左lunch之後就去補習社做功課溫習,以前係有補習姐姐上門同佢補習既,不過升左二年級之後無一個補習姐姐幫到佢,因為佢又唔怕人啦,做功課又慢啦,好多時某d功課要姐姐講解既,講得黎姐姐都要走喇,攪到又溫唔到d dictation,所以係呢二個月我就轉換左去補習社喇,呢到既姐姐好有責任心,佢會完成哂佢既功課,溫習先比佢回家既,好多時都去到成6點幾先可以返屋企架,不過成績都係無咩改變,因為佢真係好懶惰,我係做時裝小生意既,好夜先可以返屋企,到我返黎佢已經訓左喇,你地所比既意見我都有用過,但對佢好似係咩驚嚇作用...仲有咩好方法呀???點解我小朋友好似特別難攪架,好煩!!

佢而家學校既maths唔係英文架喎,你間唔中有一張worksheet係用英文做,你講既word problem係指咩呢??不過我反而覺得佢係對而家既英文老師既教學方法,因為係一年班既時候佢英文老師好like佢,又成日比d貼紙星星佢,攪到佢鬼咁歡喜,而家佢話讀左成年老師先比得o個二粒星佢,佢仲話我乖老師都唔比架啦,唔知係唔係咁呢??而家學校d常識都已經好深,好多時我都要查字典,我係上學期排成功表既見過班主任佢話學校係要中,英,數,常識 pass先可以升班,failed係唔可以升班架,所以我而家咪要諗得好清楚,好想你地再比多d寶貴既意見我呀..thanks!!

我琴日又聽過朋友既意見話我仔仔已經懶惰,如果再比佢讀d活動教學唔駛做功課唔駛考試既,會令佢更加懶散,你覺得係唔係呢,我係呢二日好應真咁問過我仔仔係呢間學校返學問唔問心,佢都話開心,佢話唔想轉校,佢話轉去第二間都係要repeat架啦,你覺得我係唔係應該請願比佢repeat一年試下呢??

唔好意思插個咀. .
我諗個個細路都未必一樣,不過我攑個例,有個朋友個仔佢係讀私校中小,幼稚園時媽媽都覺得自己個仔幾乖又幾叻,上到小學開頭都冇mug問題,到小二漸漸唔鍾意做功課,默書,測驗等,老師都想盡方法,仲選佢做班長添,可惜父母覺得個仔同自己都好辛苦,所以轉校(因為佢都唔鍾意間小學),轉咗一間冇咩功課,活動教學,遊戲中學習的小學,結果一段時間後~~~~~~個仔話好鍾意間學校,不過如果可以上堂時間要來小息,而小息時間要來上堂(十五分鐘)就更加好啦.(死未!即係返學只係想玩啦),又由於驚佢成績唔掂上唔到高中,又要佢個個星用成$千蚊學英文,(佢間小學係英小嚟架),小四時佢仲打定輸數高中送個仔去大陸到讀,小五啦好彩而家間學校有高中,佢媽媽話好囉唔駛煩囉.

以上是朋友經歷,我覺得幾直得參考,但每個細路個結果未必相同,可能佢特別d啦.

囝囝讀kln bay SJ, 已經六年級了(不知你們說的是kln bay or wanchai SJ), 男仔對Sci有興趣, 只係溫下生字, Long quest就ok, 我已經幫佢搵到溫ER的方法, 所以Sci, ER兩科越讀越好, 低年級時70幾分, 反而上到五,六年班有90分, 開心到暈低! Maths方面, 英文worksheet好少, 而且英數題目反而好淺, 佢淨係想考下你識唔識解題姐. 囝囝最大問題係英文科, 成績油麻地, 朋友話SJ英文D Grammar直情係中學程度, 囝囝又懶散, 唔肯背verb table, 又唔肯背phrasal verb, 真係好難搞, 成日都係被英文科拉低晒d分, 激死...

讀左六年, 除左佢辛苦之外, 我都好辛苦, 尤其係四年級果陣, 我差D陷入崩潰狀態, 好彩上到五年級遇到個好班主任, 囝囝無論操行,學業都有改進, 有D安慰啦!

As I know, most local English primary schools (such as St. Joseph, St. Johanne, SFA, St. Paul, DPS, LS, Maryknoll, DGJS) are traditional, have a lot of dictations, tests and exams, and a lot of homework everyday.  Also heard that some new English DSS like PLK TSL also use traditional method.

I know a lot of kids studying in local primary schools (Chinese or English), and all have a lot of homework, tests and exams.  Many have to go to tutor class after school.

Any exceptions?

I think most of the local schools are the same. For homework, it really depends! My son said he can handle and most of the time, he use 1-2 hr for homework and including all revision and preparation for next day. He manages to do it independently. What I need to do is to cross check his homework after work. He doesn't need any tutor but for the past few months, I send him to St. James Settlement after school, the one I join is not called tutoring, but something like託管！Because ever since my maid comes, she can't even manage to cook, even it's as simple as a kid's lunch. So, I enrolled him there and he takes the minibus there by himself  after school. He has lunch there, does his homework and someone will check and revise if there's dictation or test (not as pushy as the other tutor class), then snack time and playtime for 0.5 hr. He leaves there at 1730. The other reason I enrolled him there is because he is the only child and after he finishes his homework at home, he will either talk on the phone with his classmates or playing computer and that's not I want, so I put him there and he can have a chance to meet with different kinds of kids. He can learn how to share and be more disciplined. He loves there vey much although he's reluctant to go when I first mentioned it to him. He joined a lot of volunteer work there now, becomes a little tutor for the junior ones if the tutors are busy with others. He enjoys his leader role so much and it helps him to set a role model to others. Everyday, he plays table tennis, lots of games with others and he meets a lot of new friends. The most important thing is, he has to eat whatever they prepare for them, he's not picky there and he finishes everything because he says it's no good to leave behind some stuffs in the bowl. I am sure he gains a lot there!

Thanks for your sharing.  My girl is studying P.3 in a Chinese local school, we want to change her to an English school so that her English can be better.  So far as I know seems that only International schools will be better as they use the non-traditional approach and the workload is less, but if change to IS, there will be very little Chinese learning.  So I just wonder if there is any other good local English school using activity approach.

At one time I thought Creative Primary at Kowloon Tong is a good activity based English primary (with very high school fee $6K per month), however, as I noticed from 2 kids studying there upto P.5 already, their English is not good at all, though they are very happy as they don't have much homework.  Even my girl's English seems to be better.  So quite puzzled.
