關於真道書院小學介紹會

請問真道是否小學四年級開始用英文教學, 及中文會不會用普通話教學?
如果想在本地升大學, 考IB有沒有問題?

請問各位可否介紹下什麼是IB課程, 與傳統教學有何分別?  是否等於那些所謂通識, 活動教學, 專題研習....,etc. ???

一年前"真道"在BK 是其中一個Hot Topic, 可惜討論得過分激烈, 最後多以罵戰, 人身攻擊收場, 好多家長意興闌珊 (I mean 對討論), 以至無乜回應.
好高興又有討論喇, 希望唔好歷史重演啦

1. 很多活動舉辦,大部份是免費。 - Yes
Some parents think that the activities are not sufficient enough.  I personal believe that it is reasonable.  Firstly, activities after school are not possible as student live in different districts.  Once they take the school bus, they should leave the school immediately.  Secondly, we can't compare the activities to the private one.  The activities at least inspire their potentials.  I am more than happy to see the product from my son - a website made by him using dreamweaver.  

Some students can only participate one activity + 拔尖補底programme.  

2. 從來沒有要求學生捐款。Yes, never heard about it.

3. 老師質素很高, 有多位博士及來自教統局。4 PhDs.
Did they fit the primary teaching posts?   Feedbacks from students show Dr. Tso's class (Cho?  I'm not sure) is the most interesting lesson.  

4. 有公開課,各位家長對公開課的評價如何,因介紹會只觀看了一小部份。Agreed that the school will only show you the well prepared class.

5. 學生懂生字不多,但對聽和講英文會比其他傳統學校之學生好。Sorry, I dun have any idea.  

6. 學生全無壓力,少功課和無考試,令學生很喜歡返學。 Agree!   But it is changing.  In the past, Parents know nothing regarding the schedule of their "挑戰嘉年華" (A modified exam under no preparation).  Both parents and students dun have pressure for such assignment.  This year, the school announces the schedule and I believe most parents had paid extra effort to train up their kids for the assignment.  It's pressure.


7. 資優學生佔20%以上。No idea.  if 資優 direct proportion to 活躍, it's truth and it gives the school a big headach regarding the students' discipline.

         請問你是那一年級的家長, 真道似乎在變化中, 希望變得更好, 但我有一疑問, 真道千禧年開校, 現在有沒有五、六年級學生, 中學各級數是否已有學生, 將來是否以IB Course為主, 是否考國際試, 如考本港新高中試是否不太適合, 謝!

My Children are studying P2 and P3.  
The Logo has only P1-P3, Secondary Form 1 and 2.  The existing Secondary forms will enroll the HKCEE.  The primary students will aim at the IBD.

PYP的六個學習範疇：

MYP的六個學習範疇：

PYP及MYP不設考試，但設有延續性及總結性的評估。

DP文憑試的六個學科課程範圍：
1. 第一語言(學生的母語)(包括寫作及口語技能)
2. 第二語言(包括寫作及口語技能)
3. 社會學科 (例如：工商管理、經濟、地理、歷史、環球網絡資訊科技、哲學、心理學、人文科學)
4. 實驗科學 (例如：生物、化學、物理、環境系統、設計科技)
5. 數學及電腦
6. 文化藝術 (例如：視覺藝術、音樂、演藝等)

是否行IB課程的學校, 一定有IBO的支援, 不能巧立名目自稱行IB課程???  

此外, IB有沒有國際公認的標準, e.g. GRE XXX分 or TOFEL 600分, etc. 即見到某分數就代表叻?

YES, the schools have to be certified by the IBO.

For IB diploma, points of 1 to 7 are given in each of the six chosen subjects, with 7 as the highest point. Three bonus points are given for the Extended Essay (EE) and for Theory of Knowledge (TOK). A sum total of 24 (maximum 45) is required to get the Diploma.

A good university will expect something like 28–36 points (about 4–6 points for each of the six subjects). Top universities might ask for 37–40 points. Students seeking scholarships need to aim for at least 36 points. (ref: The parents guide to the IB Diploma)

Why does Logos only has choir for parents but not for students?
Why does Logos maintain such a low transparency on school administration and policy all these years?
Why does the school web site still seem more like that of an unopened school than one that has been opened for a few years with emphasis on IT?

1. The school choir has been established for 3 yrs.
2. Different people have different perceptions towards transparency, therefore, no comment.

My daughter is going to study at Logos this coming Sep too. Parents from last year said the school assign students live in same neighbourhood area into the same class. I live in Lam Tin. Where do you live?
