我諗邊間私校我不便透露,因為唔係間學校問題,而係我的選擇而矣.
因我已交了留位費,及承諾放棄派位,所以係無得抽第二輪的小一派位.其實你唔駛擔心,學校會有通告我地孩子邊間私小,或直資派表,到時你留意便可.

我也是維多利亞英文小學的家長，我的女兒正在讀五年班。

雖然銅纙灣的校址似乎很細，但在去年九月開始，P5 和 P6 的學生已經搬到灣仔天樂里口的灣仔小學上課，加上每班只有大約28人，故此有足夠的地方讓小朋友走動。

每班有中文及英文班主任各一名。外藉老師很多，以國際學校方式教授，活動教學，讓學生掌握多方面知識。所以學生的英文能力普遍很高。由於是英文小學，所以除了中文科外，都是英文授課。

校長和校監都是對教育有理想的人。校監創辦了幼稚園，再成立了小學，現在再在深灣建辦中學，形成了一條龍的校網，讓一些理念接近的家長可以不用徬徨地張羅子女的升學問題。

由於深灣的學校要07年九月才建成，故明年還需借用灣仔小學作高年班及中一及中二的校舍。

相信大家比較關心的是維小的學術水平及與正規的中學的銜接問題。由於維小的教學與普通的小學不一樣，學生不用硬啃課文及詞句，所以可能就是這樣，令他們在小學升中的派位不是很特出。我在六月初的小五家長會上，校長說他們的經驗是有1/3 同學可以派往一級的中學。但是，你若接受 IB 或國際學校模式的教學，便會覺得升中派位這制度很局限，未能反影學生的水平和能力。

在維小上課的小朋友都是很開心的，我的女兒上周考試，但她不需怎樣溫習，便很輕鬆地渡過這個考試季節。但小五下學年的學業成績是算入升中派位的計分成績的，你們作為家長可以處之泰然嗎？

我們選擇維小是因為我希望女兒有一個快樂的學習環境，我們希望她能像一塊海綿，可以按自己的能力來吸收四周的知識，學校應是一個教導她怎樣思考及解決問題的地方。至少維小達到了我的要求。

由於維小是私立英文小學，學費較其他普通小學高很多，這是需要注意的。

"讀得開心，少壓力"，我相信維小可以做得到，小班教學，還有兩個班主任照顧。我也未聽聞學校有欺凌(bully)的事發生。

每月除學費外，沒有其他雜費，偶然有的可能只是十多二十元作一些活動費用。若由學校供應午飯或提供校巴，則需每月另外付費。

泳會及球會是課外活動，部份是外判的，故需另外收費。

大家都是為了孩子的未來，歡迎提問，不用客氣。

My son is in Victoria P1.  For Chinese they follow local syllabus:

學會中國語文聽說篇
學會中國語文讀寫篇
學會中國語文應用篇

The above text books come with work books.  

Another work book is 全方位學習

And for Putonghua we have 來說普通話


Not much homework (i.e. no drilling) in P1.  About 3 times a week there is a page of Chinese h/w to write words/phases.  Every forenight they write journal.  Every week there is dictation.  Starting from term 2 children need to dictate a chapter from 學會中國語文 (but you don't know which half) + 詞語 from the other half chapter.

You can go to the book shops to check for yourself the standards.

Sound good of this school and seems like a dreaming school.  I also like it.  But, I live in Kowloon East.  It seems too far away to go to Sam Wan in the future.  Make me headache............  Do you know whether they will provide school bus in every district?

Dear all,
Is Victoria Primary School just open for its kindergarten students?  My child does not attend this kindergarten, but I am quite interested in the IB curriculum of the school.  Is it easy for children from other kindergarten to get admitted?  Can anyone share her experience?  Thanks.

They are not only open for their kindergarten's kids. I just attend to their seminar in recently few weeks ago.(due my son is studing in their kindergarten, they did have a seminar for all parents about how's the p.1 admission)What they mentioned fm the seminar, they will still allow for about half amount of space for the outer kids to apply for which mentioned fm the records on last year.....So, if you are interesting to this school, there will a chance to apply for...... Can I share wz you why you are so interesting to Victoria prim. school. Do you have any other schools which you will consider as well due Victoria prim. school for IB ciruculum are still very new from their school. Do you think it is a kind of risk???(test mouse for your kids???)

Yes, this is really a headache.  I am very interested in Victoria, both kinder and primary school.  But, Sham Wan is really a "remote" district from me.  At 6:55am, I am still sleeping everyday!!!!!!!!!!  I don't know............  Really a headache....................

I am not a VPS parent. But I am interested in the Victoria Shanghai Academy very much. As I know there is one F1 class running in Wan Chai, so do you know the class size? Is there two class teachers just like the one in the primary section?
