Maybe we will meet in the interviews at LH, St Cat, Victoria, etc. this summer :)
So I guess you wi ...
yes.
that raises another frequent discussed and constant debated issues for small b, i.e. whether to be a small b in K1 or to wait and become a big b for the year after..
my observation from other parents who advises me are that there is no need to purposely/intentionally put your child as a big b. of course there is always pros and cons being a big b, and vice versa.
My personal experience, same as you, i have already arranged my son to attend both PN and K1 interview (i guess that is one of "benefit" for small b, you could choose to be a big b or small b and apply both, but to be honest, the chance of getting accepted as a small b is quite slim and rare)
my son is lucky to also received a K1 offer from Tack Ching, that is the only one K1 offer my son gets (being a small b).. i found it difficult to compete with big b in a normal interview...however, i also find it there is no advantage being a big b in an interview (my son attended HKPS PN interview as a big b and got rejected)..i see there is no real advantage of being a big b in that case...the thing is, you never know what are the criteria a school assess your interview, and you never know how they come to make up the decision when giving out offers, like i said before, my son's interview at Tack Ching, being a small b, he was messing around and disturbing another child sat beside him and ended up he got offer for K1 this coming August...
Another thing is that, to be a small b for your son, that means your son will compete with "Dragon B", the competition is even more keen...
One other thing, i am a believer of child's potential. i think different child has different potential and you never know how he/she will perform and observe. Never limit or disrupt a child's learning if he/she is able to keep up the pace, i am against the idea of intentionally being a big b, unless my son is a slow learner...
Also, since my son already is 插班 PN now, there is no point to repeat pn as PN is more of training of discipline rather than academic. If my son really can not keep pace with bigger b in his year, i would rather repeat K1 or K2 where there are more academic studies to catch up with.
again, these are my own situation, may not apply in your case.
