I believe my younger son is totally unsuitable to place in the enviornoment of my elder son's school notwithstanding it has a very good ranking with nearly 40% students achieving at least 10As in GCSE last year.
Mainly becasue my elder son's school is a weekly boarding school with no compulsory after-school activities, little homework, no extra tuition class, one subject one textbook and highly free autonomy for students to do anything before sleeping hours.
I don't know whether it is difficult to enter a top state boarding school. For my elder son's state school, it admitted two Hong Kong students last year.
Personally, I do think that the pastol care, accomodation and varieities of ECAs of independent schools must surpass state schools. |
