簡單D講, 心儀真道既家長, 好鐘意佢既課程設計(包括5年小學, 中學有IB又有本地), 仲有對辦學團體有信心, 亦對學校各方面支援感到滿意
吾心儀真道既家長(先聲明, 我小朋友都係顫活動教學學校, 我無睇低活動教學架), 覺得活動唔work, 又或者唔相信真道既課程設計(點樣一路考本地又考ib, 小學點解唔可以讀6年), 又或者對其他事情(支援/成績等)無信心, 其實真道應該已經有公開試成績了, 可以參考一下再決定
一入侯門, 最大考慮係真道小學只讀5年, in case要轉校, 人地都唔知收你讀邊級, 而升中無呈分(好似? 請高人指點)就即係唔可以參加升中派位抽獎部分, 因為學生無banding, 只能靠校內成績去申請第一輪, 所以中學想轉出去亦有難度

我是真道家長, 不是說學校沒有需要改善之地方, 但可以告訴你:
(1) 真道不谷小朋友, 但要讀得出眾也非容易.
(2) 學校願意與家長溝通, 每位學生皆有班主任之手提電話, 方便家長與老師聯絡.
(3) 老師大都有心, 大部份孩子都享受學習過程, 因學校包容性高, 不會用成績標籤學生.

I want to see their results but couldn't find it on their website.  Anyone knows whether their results are published online?  Or is it not disclosed yet?  thanks.

Hi Godislove, my kid is in the 2nd year and let me share what
      I know so far 
   
      English - there are lessons/ quizzes on grammer, listening,
      phonics, as well as reading n writing.  Apart from
      English homework, students are also required to write a daily
      log to train their writing skills.  About another
      parent's comments on the vocabulary, I don't know why he/ she
      said that.  Maybe the readers follow the US curriculum
      and the content is different from those most HK schools use.
       It is in fact an advantage cause the quality of the
      readers are very good.
   
      Work load - whether it's heavy or not depends on the individuals. So far it is managable for my kid.  She still has time to play, take extra-curricular activities.  FYR, there are roughly 2 to 5 pieces of homework every day.  For most of it are 1-2 pages of worksheets.
   
      Discipline - the teachers have been able to keep the students
      well behaved at class.  You can tell when you have a
      chance to join the open classes later in the year.
    From your ID, I guess you are a Christian.  So why not pray and wait for God's plan for your kid to revealed to you.

其實之前有好多有關真道的分享, 樓主可番查.

我小朋友上年亦被取錄, 不過最後冇入讀, 主要是再三考慮了, 真道的模式教法在理論上十分完美及吸引: 例如小學5年制, 免卻了重覆P1/F1的問題, 校本課程多, 活動教學, 專科專教, 中學最後2年又有IB可選等.

但識不少初小家長說出實際上的問題, 如上堂紀律較散, 老師未必可以掌握進度, 發揮校本課程的優點, 家長又因不能同其它類似學校做比較, 較不了解進度, 不呈分, 中學公開試的成績亦沒有公佈等,

另外一面, 亦識得在真道較有發揮的學生是本身能力較強, 自控較好的, 他們在此模式如魚得水, 可惜自問自己的小朋友不算此類, 又怕真小學階段讀不好亦無法轉出來, 所以最後選不了此校.

What you meant seems to be similar to the situation of those int'l schools or DSS schools that run the curriculum simulating IB.  i.e. Under such learning environment, students who have strong learning motivation and self-motivated would have more advantage.  I believe that children who feel comfortable with structured environment and syllabus would fit in more to a learning environment where they have something to follow suit and it is more predictable.

學校生活是多美好, 少了一年學校生活覺得對小朋友唔公平. 其實依家好多學校都做到愉快學習, 成績又唔錯的.

不過現實啲, 2013-14小一位非常緊張, 要放棄OFFER真係唔容易, 或者先睇下仲有什麼OFFER再算啦.

其實選擇真道嘅風險，大家都好清楚。風險一定比其他學校高。問題係你作為家長你接受風險的程度有幾高，依樣要你問自己先至知。不過都係果句，就算我地度嚟度去咁又點呢，唔通我哋嘅籌謀真係有用咩?

我女都係讀真道。得罪講句，如果你仲心大心細，真係不如放棄，因為仲有好多現正就讀真道嘅學生嘅細佬妹都只係入waiting list，等緊好心人放位先可以有offer。佢哋嘅爸爸媽媽明顯比你更清楚同更buy真道。

其實在了解中, 我覺得真道的理念是取IS 最好的部份如活動教學/IB 等, 再用較東方人的方式去教, 我覺得是十分有心同創新的,
可惜香港大環境, 尤其是包括我自己的家長們一定會功利多些, 向成績及大學率看,  可惜作為新進直資 (非私校) 資源有限, 令需花費很多去支持的課程如校本或IB模式, 實行起來, 成績暫時同理想有距離, 不可能如DB 等有大量資源 (包括top tier 學生) 的學校出色, 我估起碼好幾年, logos 的成績才會見真章,

但如果我小朋友要今年入學就要即時面對好多不明朗 (包括自身能力同學校方向的調整配合等因素), 所以左思右想下當時唯有取一些較實在的offer.

首先十分恭喜你囝囝被取錄了!!

I am a Christian and have been praying about 小一選校 since months ago with my hubby. I also got the 2013-2014 offer and indeed very happy about it.
What i really want to share with you is :
" 人 或 有 可 能 會 楝 錯 , 但 神 不 會 "
Because HE is so faithful that HE cares our kids more than us!!

There are many posts about LA which can give you enough information to make decision. However, you need to spend enough much time to read and to digest.

e.g. 很多有心有力有見地願意幫助別人的真道家長在很先前posts的回應.
能夠拜讀他們的無私分享, I learn a lot about IB and a lot about LA.

Personally, I cannot believe there is gain without paying effort. Thus, it is predictable and reasonable that LA increase the world load since p.3.

I choose LA because they start IB approach from the 1st day and believe IB can train my son to be a learner who knows who he is and cares about the world he is living.

若果有疑問，多方面找答案是正確態度。

最後真是十字路口，如果有其他選擇，我建議選一些課程及理念大路些的學校，真道是另走偏鋒的學校。

若果一間明白lB理念的學校，應該唔會鼓勵學生又讀lB同時又讀NSS，LA的安排令人百思不得其解。

我在另一個帖深入解釋LA的安排是對那5個學生不公平，誤導他們了。現在換了校長，部分家長才比較出現在的學制的安排較合理。

我的小朋友也在真道四年了,這四年最大得益是眼界放大了,不只懂背默抄這等事,更懂得表達。他是插班生,很快地和他們融合。他的弟弟在中西區某名男校,相對地沒有他的勇敢面對和承擔,學習也沒有他這麼主動。選擇在於成人的信念與認同,若覺太博就不要勉強了。
