HYPS vs APSKT

When u look at the APSKT forum, so many FT parents are there to help each other out on assignments/notices etc!  At HYPS forum, very few parents are there at all..... It tells some obvious differences...

HYS and DGS are both my targets.  I am not 'dead heart eye' on DGS.

Yes, u are are right on the nail!  Bingo!  I can still nurture my girl at HYPS and try DGJS if we still want in P.2.

不過從字裡行間好難使人信服HY也是目標喎....

Problem is we worry about the HYPS-HYS link being weakened after conversion of HYS to DSS. APS has outstanding track record.

hy都算係老牌名校，我覺得唔會咁輕易比學生水平下降甚至反而為了保住水準，加多兩錢肉緊tim
都係o個句，就算上屆有9個入到dgs，你都可以係其餘唔入o個d
我相信，同一個叻女，如果佢有能力入到dgs，佢應該係讀hy/aps都可以入到

What is the implication for this difference ? It is hard to think of  ! You may say cox the parents in APS is more kind-hearted and willing to help. Or you can say families who are able to send their kids in APS are mostly good in financial background which allows the mother to work as full time mother instead of working outside to earn $$, resulting that those mothers have spare-time to help others.

No matter it is HY or APSKT, you need to ask yourself whether you have sufficient resources in terms of finance and time/effort to support the kid. Be honest, if $$ is not a big problem, APSKT should be your cup of tea as long as your target is still the famous secondary school ! And also, I believe the knowleage learnt from APS should be more comprehensive and all-rounded !

唔合理！

無論你讀APS/HYPS，目標都是DGS/HYS的話，條件都一定要有卓越成績。如果有卓越的成績，跟本唔需要擔心HYPS-HYS link的問題。

同樣道理，成績唔好，無論APS/HYPS都一定入唔到DGS/HYS，反而讀HYPS考HYS重可能有大些機會。

根本應該揀那一間是明顯不過的事，只是樓主心中另有想法找人認同吧了。

希望你囡囡入到一所最適合她的學校。

如果你和女兒讀女校都OK，我會選HY，我仔在APS畢業，朋友女兒讀HY，
討論兩者教法時，我覺HY的教法比APS好好多。
加上HY唔使錢，留下給女兒補習或去旅行吧！！

我仔放長假，學校完全無作業給他做，我所知未寫過英文的讀書報告，只是很久
有一篇中文報紙的讀後感，事後我看一次，其中不少錯字，但老師給他一個"閱"字，
錯字沒改。

You can't simply say APSKT parents are more helpful simply based on the response in BK forum.  It's too simple and naive!  I know parents have their facebook groups so that they can discuss more openly with names of kids disclosed, which is not convenient to do so in BK.  Actually, even if you think over and over and over until Sept, no one can give you a concrete answer.  I'm sure you already know the pros and cons of each school, there's no perfect choice.  If you think positively, whichever you choose will be good.  If you think negatively, you'll regret in whichever  you pick.  It's matter of attitude.  The attitude of you being a considerate and responsible parent is more important.  Make the decision quickly.

我就十分喜歡HY, 奈何唔同區, 又唔係聖無公會 .....
讀HY起碼德育一定好好, 由幼稚園已經好注重德育,德育同學業, 我揀德育先,
HY巳經係Tier 1, 何必一定要DGS?

其實樓主係咪應該做個好見証，快些放番個位出來呢？
