What are the ESF administration thinking?  What makes them think that they have a right to ask the owner of the clip to take it off Youtube?

ESF administration ... 真是令人，尤其是學生和家長，極度失望。
唯有相信，有這樣的小孩，真係因為有這樣的辦學團體。ESF 再這樣攪落去，真係相自我摺埋乎？

如果沒有 Youtube 的那一段，只是讓大會去“公平”地調查，結果，就只是那一句：聆訊結果顯示，兩隊均沒有遵守和尊重比賽規則和指引，欠缺體育精神。雖然一方是踢人的頭，另一方則是個仔比人踢左個頭之後衝出去的家長，兩者的“罪行”，在內部調查來說，是一樣的！
好啦，下次，如果有人踢你個仔個頭，你應該唔好出聲，甚至應該學耶穌，請他踢埋另一邊頭！
如果踢頭事件發生在成人世界裡，又會如何處理？

我係一個普通媽媽, 唔係ESF家長, 我只係睇過條片兩次....
踢波一定粗魯ga喇, 亦一定有犯規, 扯衫kick人好閒事, 不過 .... 2號仔係有心踢去個小朋友個頭度, 我覺得佢係蓄意去踢人個頭, 頭喎會死人ga!! 我唔認為呢件事可以等同小朋友打波互有碰撞咁簡單去睇, 如果我係在場嘅家長, 我都會衝出去!!!!

ESF 的 管理層有何權利要求刪除條片？  仲要出律師信。

其實， 校方的一句道歉， 一句關心的說話
已經可以化解事件
但他們竟然出律師信

ESF 的家長，貴校的管理層是否需要做一次腦部掃描？

1.  "受傷小朋友的父親亦已到警署報案"
Let's wait and see what the outcome of the police investigation is.

2.  "英基出律師信要人刪條片"
ESL should explain why they made the request.  Is it because they think the video clip only tells half the truth by showing only ESL's fouls or what?

3.  "香港足球發展聯賽大會表示，已對周六賽事即時展開內部聆訊，並翻看當天錄影片段，及球證和監場人員的賽後報告等。聆訊結果顯示，兩隊均沒有遵守和尊重比賽規則和指引，欠缺體育精神"
What is the full picture?  Both sides played rough and Kitchee was as bad as ESL?  If yes, then it would mean the the video clips we saw did not show us the full picture.  

4. "大會亦指出，球隊教練有責任注意球員情緒，家長亦要自律並尊重比賽指引，但承認球證在執法上有改進空間"
大會should tell us exactly what the parents did wrong?  

5.  "對英基球員的粗野行為感到震驚並不能接受，將作嚴重處分"
The ESL coach (or was it both coaches?) and the referee (who iis now criticised by 大會) deserve 嚴重處分 as much as the ESF player.

6.  香港足球發展聯賽大會 has already made a finding.  ESL and Kitchee must also make an investigation and release their finding as soon as possible.  They need to tell us if they did something wrong and what they would do to prevent it from happening again.

7.  The rules of the league game need to be changed immediately.  The referee must be given power to give out yellow and red cards and they must ensure the situation won't get out of hand.  Otherwise there is nothing to stop this from happening again.  

PS.  I think it is a good idea that all parents watching football matches or other equally competitive sports should from now on bring along a video camera to record what happens in the match.  If something unpleasant happens, at least it won't be 口同鼻拗

Is that No. 2 soccer player really a student of one of the ESFschools?  Which ESF school is he from? Does anyone know?

極度同意! ESF 的家長是更應該關注這件事以及校方的處理手法的.

我看過這條片只一次,好痛心,所以不想再看多一次.痛心的是在一名12歲的孩子身上看到那股惱火遮眼以致行為失控的狠. 不錯,外國球賽不時看見這股狠勁,但這次只是一名12歲的男童. 如果我是男童的父母, 我會和兒子一齊對被踢男童及其家人作出正式道歉. 我不會用'邪惡'去形容踢人的男童, 但他的EQ需要多加培育,無論是面對挑釁/面對挫折/面對競爭的時候.首先,他的一個道歉,對他,是一個新的開始.

而ESF校方的強硬態度,其實並不能幫到這位踢人的男童.更可能給他負面訊息.

至於那位被踢的男童,他日傷口好番,但落場的態度不知會怎樣改變了~

(我希望可以儘量不用國際學校/外籍男童/本地男童等等字眼,所以有點彆扭,事關呢件事同呢啲完全無關)

Police to investigate kicking of boy's head

The father of the 12-year-old boy who was kicked in the head during a youth soccer match has filed a police report, saying it was no accident.
"I'm afraid if this attitude continues, who will be the next boy?" said Philip Poon Hung-wai, whose son, a player for Kitchee-Escola under 12s, was injured in a game against ESF Lions at King George V School last Saturday. The English Schools Foundation said it appeared to be an unfortunate accident.



Poon said he had three reasons for filing the report: to get an explanation from the boy who kicked his son; reserve the right to claim for damages; and send a message that this kind of rough play should not happen again.

His son had a few loose teeth, a bruised jaw and cuts in his mouth, but Poon said the kick could have caused serious damage. "It could have taken his life, disabled him, broken his neck, or blinded him."

Poon said he had yet to hear from the other boy or his parents.

After an investigation, the Hong Kong Development League and its organisers the Chelsea Soccer School ruled that both teams were in breach of their code of conduct and failed to play in the spirit of sportsmanship.

The league is set to take disciplinary action against the coaches and spectators (parents who ran onto the pitch), as well as the ESF player for violent conduct, but declined to say what the punishment might be.

The ESF last night said: "We regret that the [league] chose to release the findings of their investigation to the press before providing it to any of the individuals involved. We are disappointed in the way the investigation was conducted, which gave no opportunity for those who were present to comment. The incident involving an 11-year-old ESF Lions player was an unfortunate and regrettable accident and the surrounding media attention that has been focused on him, much of it offensive and defamatory, is entirely unwarranted."

The ESF can make all comments they want.  In fact, everybody has been longing to hear what they have to say about the incident.

How could ESF describe the deliberate kick in the face as an unfortunate and regrettable accident?  The football was not even there close to the injured boy.  How could it be an accident?  Furthermore, if it had been an accident, the ESF boy would have said sorry immediately.

Why is it defamatory?  The video clip is fake?  The boy didn't kick somebody's head or he didn't do it deliberately?  The video clip clearly showed what happened.  

4. The attitude now adopted by ESF is in a way endorsing or at least glossing over the boy's action.  The way they handle this matter is disgraceful.   If this is allowed to go on, any boy (from any school including those from ESF itself) could in the future be in the receiving end of that kick.  I think ESF parents should voice out.  As to the other parents, perhaps they can't do anything other than to boycott ESF in football matches.
