It doesn't really matter AM or PM for K1 class, cos Kentville has shifting system- all K2 will be PM and then all K3 will be AM again.  So it is fair to all students.

我張form都有寫囡囡o係樂基讀緊N1,根德園都收o左囡囡讀AM class喎!我反而聽人講佢o地鍾意收讀緊N1o既學生,因為容易d適應K1,唔會喊好耐,而且感覺上比較smark!

Could you tell me how the content of the report as this will show some hints for the Kentville's standard of acceptance.

I am not the lucky one, Kentville failed my son who is a small boy.  Maybe will try next year.

Just want to share my point of view only:

I think most of the interviews will not be treated in a fairly based even the result is positive or negative. As it depends on many different factors or aspects, no matter interview for a kinder or even for a job.

People have different thinking and attitude, the level of acceptance are various from people or various even from time to time (some might agree and some might not). So no need to stick on the point of fairness or not. It is not reflected that your child(ren) is/are not smart enough if you've got a negative result.

My girl is also accepted to am class.  Although I have not made up my mind yet, I'll still pay the $550 deposit first.

You are right, no need to search for the the selection criteria.  

Alright, just let it be and the most important thing is my son can have a happy kinder life.  

Hence, it's the fact that the interviewer always has her own opinion and no matter how good the baby did, it's sometimes about a little bit luck though (in fact my son knew all 26 alphbets, eyes, ears, nose, hair, head etc for a month already and can pronounce quite clear and he knew how to sing a bit, however, the Kent's interviewer didn't ask him so) !

I think KGs have fuzzy judgement on the selection criteria.

May be they will selectively consider the applicant's interview performance against his/her age, parent's response and background or even just becoz' the kid is quite cute. In short, you may say this is entirely a kind of 緣份 between the KG and our kids.

I'm a new member. My daugther rec'd the waiting list today. Maybe I will not issue the letter to presuade school accept my daugther. My daugther have a very good performance during the interview. My husband is fireman and I'm a Manager of one very famous Japanese company. I don't understand the standrad of acceptance. ...Cos we living in a quarter which provided by government. Not in Kowloon Tong or any famous esatate/garden which showing from rich family.

From my experience, you should pay attention to the following aspects (in the order of importance)when you prepare your kid for the future interviews:

1) no shy (could talk to stranger)
2) good manner (could say good morning and goodbye to interviewer)
3) basic understanding of himself and the world (age, name, colours, shapes and the like)
4) sing a song (a must for kentville)

Of course, the above aspects are by no means exhaustive.  It is just the personal experience I would like to share with you!

My kid did not sing that day and we were late. Still they offered a place to us. So, I think point 4 is not a must. I don't mean to query your ideas but I just don't want poor parents like me have such heavy pressure. Some kids simply haven't started to talk at interviews!

My friend's daughter also got a seat at Kentville. Her father just a merchant and they living at a Government Estate at Hunghom.We also live in a private building at tokwawan before and my son had got a seat at 03/04 .

Maybe the school perfer the kids study nursery before go to K1. My daugther only joint the playgroup.

  我個囡囡收了上午班(dorset), interview 只是看到小朋友的一小部份, 每個小朋友都是daddy & mommy's the best, cleverest & smart one in the world.  Pls don't ever try to hesitate about your kid's ability.  They all are WHITE paper only....  Anyway, I think there must be some parents forfeit its placement once all kinders disclose results.  Just like me, then I think wait list or even "knock their door" again would be a smart way instead of query on kid's performance during interview.   Cheers
