I think it makes better sense if the 5 religious marks are given to their parents instead of the students themselves !

OK, I get it.  Thanks for giving me an explanation.  Some of my friends who are Christian contribute 5% - 10% of their salary to the Church.  

Anyway, I still think that whatever the reason, the religious mark should be dropped if the religious groups want more people to "faithfully" accept their religion.  My son is studying in a private Catholic school.  We do not have religious belief but he begins to ask questions regarding life, and god etc.  Preaching through education is good.  Most religious schools were established with this belief in mind, with many to serve the poor and underpriviledged.  Things have changed.  A lot of them have shifted to DSS to serve the middle class (or rich).  Hope I am not too offensive.

umm...我諗你唔明白我地既信仰，都唔知點解釋比你知。下面一段取自http://www.evanlife.org.hk/c_index.htm，可作參考，唔係所有公教家庭洗禮都為那5分，沒有我地都會咁做。

1.洗禮實現救恩

this is not equal to bring them to baptise when they are still small kids!


you can bring them to church and let them feel the atmosphere there and learn the message there !

BUT the most important is to let them decide themselves !

I also understand that being catholican, you have to follow the rule !

咁請問你既小朋友係咪所有野都由佢自己決定呢？小一選校又係唔係佢既意願呢？而家讀緊既幼稚園又係唔係佢自己選擇架？

every time discussing about this point , this seems to be the wordings that must appear !


First of all, I have to make it clear that I don't intend to discuss any thing about religion itself here which will lead to even bigger argument !


Shall we ask the baby which brand of milk powder/diaper  to use for them ?


The answer is obvious !

Shall we equalise Religion with daily decisions !

Of course not! In fact, I respect religious belief so much that I think that we should leave this important aspect of life to themselves !


Ummm, about the choice of kindys and primary schools, I would say if feasible, why not?


The logic is if we could wait uuntil the kids are mature enough, then why not ?

but in true life, can we wait until the kids are mature enough to choose their own kindys or primary schools??

the answer is in every one's mind !


for religious belief, I don't see why we cannot wait a few more years !!!

舊年看過立人的一篇文章，當中亦有些教會學校錄取教友學生的數據，大家可以參考下。

同一宗教信仰的五分是否會令小一自行收生不公平？

教改分成七個重點：（一）課程改革（二）語文教育（三）支援學校（四）專業發展（五）收生機制（六）評核機制（七）增加專上教育機會。七個都是重點，但最掀動人心的是收生機制，小一、中一、中六、大學都影響百萬人的心神，影響的不單是學生本人，牽連的還有學生整個家庭和學校。幼稚園的老師關心自己的學生入到那一所小學，小學的老師又關心學生被派到那一所中學，中五的老師又牽掛那些不能留讀本校的學生飄泊何方，大學更是父母們十多年心血的焦點，而家長更是受和學生全程受影響，收生機制真要請政府謹慎處理之。

現暫行小一收生機制出現20分這Magic Number，極受家長歡迎的津貼小學都需要這分數才能在自行收生裡有抽籤的機會，在這計分制度下，大部份20分想當然是適齡兒童、首名子女加上宗教信仰，當然亦有如父母或兄姊為該小學的畢業生加上適齡兒童都會有20分，而不涉及宗教分，經驗告訴我們大部份有宗教背景的學校畢業生都沒有宗教信仰。

何解需要此新暫行收生計分辦法？因為家長心儀的小學數目實在太小，而舊有小一收生機制的校長十分，自行收生百分比約六成半，統一收生只約三成半只會令受歡迎的學校更有權力選擇學生，要將收生權從受歡迎的學校手裡取回，故此校長十分沒有了，收生數目百分比改變了。當然每一制度下都將有人受益，所以須要討論、辨證或試行，以符合大多數人的利益，事實亦沒有一種制度能令所有孩子入讀父母心儀的小學，就算取消所有評量方法，來個

我絕對支持麟媽媽既看法, 我覺得自由討論係岩既, 但我覺得大家也不應太偏激,  如果真的覺得自己因少了那宗教分而唔開心, 大可找一些冇宗教既小學咪得囉其實除左天主教教區學校辦得出色外, 很多其他團體辦學都唔差, e.g.  保良局.  

我本人覺得唔值得為了這個問題爭辯什麼.

it's not my intension to discuss any religious regulations here because I am not qualified !

I just see it from the view point of the kids and an ordinary parent !


In fact , I insist to put my kid into a religious school to let them learn the message themselves !

I would be happy if she would have a religious belief later on but I would respect her own choice!
