依家英國考幾多A己沒太大意義，每科好象接近一半人考A。

我不是太認同, cambridge同oxford 係worldwide嚟講仲係 top ten..........點會沒意義呀!!!!!!

I think what Judy meant was since it was too easy to get an A for UK GCSE and A-levels' subject, u don't need to be outstanding to get As.  But I think in UK, the universities count how many As u can get in GCSE and A-levels.   For example, one of my friends (we were in the same secondary school for F.1 to F.3, then we chose the same school together in UK), she got 7A*(not A, it's A*)in GCSE and 5A in her A-levels, so she got an offer from cambridge to do Architecture.  But in HK, it's really hard to get As and Bs in HKCEE and A-levels.  Another one of my friends (her school results in HK was really really bad already), she got 2As and 2Bs and 3Cs in GCSEs and got 1E 1B 2Cs in Alevels, she was accepted by the University of London to do Pharmacology (not the same as Pharmcy!!).  So I think if you wanna get into Oxbridge, u need to get all A* in GCSEs and all As in A-levels and also doing well in the interviews.:

acmc-  If I were you, I would not spend much time thinking about the issue of GT vs YW until I know my son is accepted by YW for sure.

All single sex school created Homosexual?  

This statement is rather irrelevant in picking a good school and factually school is one of the surroundings bring up a child.  Church, Scout, tutoring classes, sport club and neighbours are also part of the children's life.  What made the opposite sex into children's life so difficult?  

If GT already accept your children , congrate to you and it is no point to compare with other schools in fact your kid never applied.  

My son did not study GT before and I am not in the position to comment their academic standard.  

Certainly working parents with heavy workload should think twice in applying YW as children homework and studies are really engaging.  It is no free lunch for those hoping the school could solve everthing for you.  Parent in house tutoring is one of the core factor to bring up your kids.

For the YW English standard, it is quite challenging and student starts journal writing in P.1.  P.2 student are already doing composition.  The 2,222 pairs of couple are not idiots to send their sons to this school blindly.

首先聲明,其實兩間學校我都鐘意,不過c6唔鐘意gt.
唔係要幫邊間,不過想俾番少少YW第一手正確既資料,咁先可以進行討論.以下既資料係今年既情況.

1. yw係30人一班,唔係3x或以上.
2. 的確報紙上面都有登過有yw既學生係跳過班既,不過就唔知個比率係幾多.即係話呢個未一定係一個機制,但係有需要既話,唔係唔可以跳囉.
3. 我唔識教育,唔識點分傳統同活動,但係知道yw既教學一定唔係好似我地細個果時,完全單向既.佢地會有好多答問題既機會,有行與行之間既比賽,有好多時候要同學互相對問,做一d好似訪問之類既活動.好多互動,唔係齋坐響度單向咁聽書既.
4. 無論中定英,抄寫響佢地功課入面,都係佔一個非常之少既部分,平均一個星期一次,最多果次都係1x個字,每個字寫打橫既一行,即係隔埋格之後,有d詞只夠寫3次左右啦.

"The 2,222 pairs of couple are not idiots to send their sons to this school blindly." 我贊同這句的, 我個小朋友都有2nd in機會. 除gt 取錄外, 還有其它學校有2nd in, 唔考慮的有2nd in 都唔打算去, 要考慮的只想早點聽聽別人的意見, 不至到時幸運被取錄, 留位前十五十六, 在這個平台, 大家覺得有時間又可以回應吓, 男校, 女校, 男女校的確是家長們考慮範圍之內. 如果可以用平常心去看, "all Single sex school created homosexual?"應該唔會出現這句問題吧! 何必咁敏感呢! 其實我一直以來都好多謝大家的提點, 又點會有惡意!!

same thought as you.....just to know more information now.  Just in case we are so luckily that being accepted by either school, we can make choice earlier.

I did not apply GT, but I have applied St. Stephen & HKUGA

Any comment to compare St STephen, HKUGA vs YW?
