My elder girl is only in K1 now, since we live in Stanley, wonder if St Stephen's is closer & better for her.  Marymount is a bit far, & my mum always say Marymount isn't as good as in the old days.

Any comment?

I'm thinking the same too (to try our luck on St Stephen's), but if it fails, it means we'll get allocated to the schools in Southern District which I've no idea at all + far away ...  And w/25 marks, will it be a waste for not trying MSS ...?

Yes, I am in HK now.  MSS is a reasonable distance from my home, but it is not on my list.  I plan to apply to CIS, SIS and ISF.  MSS is just a back up for me.  After going through high school overseas (equivalent to IS in HK), I just can't bring myself to send my daughter to ls.  I simply don't believe in the system.  I am not here to judge whether IS or LS is better, just a conclusion based on my personal experience.

ync_224, where is your daughter going to school now?  She will be in K2 in the fall?  My daughter is supposed to start K1 in Sept, which puts her one year younger than yours.

ync_224, how is the 25 points made up?  I only get 20 points (first born+alumni).

my girl isn't going to an official kindergarten.  I started her off at a montessori learning centre and decided that I want her to stay with montessori as long as possible.  I did go to tour a couple of montessori schools (not many options), but for many reasons, i decided to keep her in the present learning centre for K1.  Anyway, CIS and SIS start reception at K2, so that's what I aimed at.

i didn't really look into woodlands because I've heard that it is not truly montessori.  Seems that most of their teachers do not hold internationally acknowledged montessori qualifications.

International schools and local schools are different NOT ONLY because of the language environment.

ESF students are not only good students. They are in fact good learners.

International schools do not merely teach students knowledge. They teach students to be learners, so students can learn with real interests and initiation, and students do love to learn even when they are outside the school and outside the curriculum. You probably cannot notice the skills your child have acquired during primary school years. But those skills do come in handy when she is in secondary school and beyond.

Elmostoney

I wonder if you remember Heyton, whom was in 5B & 6B as well ...?  He's now teaching in one of the ESFs, he said he's like going to Disneyland everyday, what a job!

Corina and her cousin (forgot her name) were in the same class with me in 5B/6B.  Maureen for sure.  She was the 班長 and very popular.  I think Iris also.  She was kind of a tom boy.
