I am considering A4 and T10.  A4 comes with 200 cards, T10 comes with 320 cards. Kid can learns many things from there. (I have visited department stores and tried both models) A4 cards are using 'real' pictures and sound quality is better, but looks a bit difficult for my son.  T10 is cheaper, with more cards but it's an old model and sound quality is not as good as A4.   Because my Chinese is bad, I hope he can learn from a machine!

The machine seems very good.
Why don't you buy from the shop? As this is an electronic machine, I think it's better to buy from the shop directly. It's a bit risky to buy through online store. It will be very inconvenient if the machine has problem.

Can not find your new recommendation from DD?  Which site is available?

I've  bought the early education machine. We love it very much, I bought the latest model A4, it is very easy to use. I'm 90% satisfy.

I went to Shanghai book city yesterday, they are offering 20% discount.  I bought a complete set my own flavour. They are very expensive in HK, I guess, each book is over HK$130.

Published by Cambridge, original English edition, color, very good paper quality. Remember to buy the English edition, I've bought one Chinese edition when I first arrived Shanghai, it's not easy to understand their translation.  If you want to order from DD, search for 英语在用.

I bought this 百科知识贴画 from the China bookstore in HK which is ~ $8 / book. They are really good in quality and My son loves the sharks stickers.

(Please let me know if you want me to buy 1 for you from HK. ;-D;-D;-D;-D)

I think I've came across this set of Cambridge book in one of the bookshop in HK.

By the way for the grammer book, did you know the set of Longman book (SIDE BY SIDE level 1, 2, 3 & 4)? This set of book is really good for primary kids. (You may search through Amazon and take a look at the inside pages.) The China version of side by side is available on DD (1 student book + 1 exercise book + ~8-10 CDs) which is ~$60 / set.

I read your message about VCDs from Innoform in another post.

I'd like to recommend you the set of VCDs - MAGIC KEYS (vol. 1-6) which is the stories adopted from Oxford Reading Tree. If you son loves Kippers stories, I can sure that you love these VCDs too. Each VCD contains ~ 4-5 stories.  (They are available in HK CD shops.)

If you don't mind, can you buy the Shark stickers book for me?  I'll back to HK during CNY. I remember you have 3 kids, from age 7 to baby, right?  see what can I get for you here... I bought a Shark VCD (Rmb15) for my son yesterday, it's from Discovery Channel.

I bought the Oxford Reading Tree VCD in Malaysia, I think their books are better than VCD, perhaps VCD is more for bigger kids but my son still enjoying viewing them.

The set I mentioned is Gogo Adventure, I quickly went thru the set and found their curriculum is quite good. I guess they should be available in HK too.

I read your other posting about SIDE BY SIDE, I read them over in the shop but did not buy. Too difficult for my son... I'm now looking for Kindergarten curriculum.

Can I share a good news, I attend his parenting day last week, they have 2 Chinese teachers and 1native English teacher per class.  His Chinese teachers said he is the smartest and fast learner in his class.  The English teacher said his English level is higher than his & next class students, she is now teaching him alone in the morning for an hour.   She praised that I spend lots of time to read to him and there's big difference between a kid who reads and a kid who does not read.  Readig is so important!

P.S. her tips - she is MA in English Lit.   after reading a story, always ask the feeling and feedback from the kid.

I bought them in KK (Kota Kinabula), most of the shopping centers have PINGU VCD. I'm sure it's easier to find the complete selection in KL. For Oxford Reading Tree, you better another topic by FXPC. I guess, the price is same.

I have received the GOGO English and Parachutes. My son is not very interested in GOGO because they talked too much Chinese as introduction / or before every lesson. I prefer to have everything in English.  Anyway, it's good value that 10 books & VCD, also CD rom?  Parachutes is quite expensive (if comparing with other book sets) It's more like an exercise book.

I will highly recommend the following, but Grade 1 is out of stock from DD:

I've Grade 2 and my son loves all the little books. Very easy to teach & follow.  They are from Benchmark Eduction.

My son loves WEE SING when he was baby - 18 months old.  I bought from US, FXPC did mention the China edition (1 CD & 1 book) which is only RMB 10-12?? (I also saw them in Shanghai) The songs should be the same.  I like WEE SING & FINGERPLAY and WEE SING CHRISTMAS.

If you will buy the story book set which FXPC is recommending, many of them come with CD.  e.g. 亲亲自然学英语 , for adults, the songs are boring (WEE SING are much better) for kids, my son loves to listen everyday. When I ordered them, I thought the CD are just telling the stories in English & Chinese. I don't expect there are songs for each story book.

I saw the Wee Sing Chinese version from Dxngdxng before. It is a tape not CD. Is there CD version now? I also want to buy.

I was in bookshop today to check on Wee Sing.  The Chinese name (translation is "Teach your children to sing English".  One exercise book & one CD is Rmb 17.  The complete collection has 3 books & CDs.  All books are included the most popular children songs, e.g. Row, row, row the boat, The Wheel on the Bus etc..  Exercise book is useful too, some can cut/color to make an art object. Each song comes with one exercise/art&craft which is related to the song.
