I don't know if Tin Ping is real or not but as far as I know they're one of the earliest institutes introducing 珠心算 in Hong Kong.  My 6-yr old son has been studying in its Tai Koo Shing Centre since Feb this year.  The teacher in his class is good and his mathmatics did improve.  He can now calculate by heart single digit addition and subtraction.  With the help of abacus, he can calculate 2-3 digit additon and subtraction.

I have a friend whose son is 7-yr old learning 珠心算 in Tin Ping's Kowloon Tong Centre for .5 yr.  He can calculate by heart 2-digit addition easily and quickly.

由於這幾天, 我忙於看那本關於珠心算的圖書, 所以很少在線上, 不及時PM.對不起, 那本書, 差不多看了一半, 各位真得值得一看, 文章內容對我們香港媽媽確實十分有用. 看後, 相信每位對珠心算有更深認識. 好像書中,講到台灣有好幾間出名既珠心算團体, 其中一間: 是中華國際珠心算協會台灣總部, 再細看一下: 姨生香港仔這間叫香港兒童珠算中心 就係佢地既香港分會. 再問下中心: 原來台灣那裏不是輕易授權給香港之珠心算中心. 需經過一連串之考核及評審,這我都十分相信, 乍看一下: 香港確實沒太多這些經台灣授權之中心. 我十分高興姨生能夠選對, 等我仔仔到4歲半, 我都幫他報.

The address is on my son's workbook.  They have one centre in Yau Ma Ti (tel 2783 7222).  Other centers locate in Shatin, Chuen Wan, Taikoo and Central.

Actually, I'd already called Tin Ping and will arrange a visit there to understand more on next Sat.
Meanwhile, I'm going to search more info' about Kumon for comparison. Do you know any Kumon teaching centre in Kowloon/Kowloon Tong ?

Sorry Ruby1219, I don't know anything about Kumon.  There is a lot of centers in HK and Kowloon but I know some of them are not operated by Kumon itself and is franchise only which some people said is not as good as those operated by Kumon.  You must carefully choose.

你可以憑其他家長口啤就知拉, 好似香港兒童珠算中心咁.係香港仔都好有口啤, 我都係其中一位媽咪介紹, 仔仔不經不覺讀左一年多, 由K2下學期開始, 直至現在, 今年升小一, 2-3個位加減數佢已經無問題, 依家開始學乘數. 校內數學成績都幾好, 還考到西區一間名校. 以往我個仔好討厭數, 學了珠算後,情況就好唔同. 我個人覺得, 最重要係教學模式及方法, 繼而啟發小朋友之興趣,再建立信心.  其次就係學費同地點.  不過都要各家長自己去嘗 才會知既.

My son is learning 公文數, I know that it is good and it can be applied on primary school's Mathematics.
But 珠心算 can 培訓小朋友之學習素質, 如思維, 反應, 記性及注意力, it is difficult for me to choose.
So, I want to let my son to enroll the both 公文數&珠心算.  Do you think if it is good for him?

同時學2個班, 你啟啟你仔仔棈神及体力上能否應付, 才決定啊, 若你仔仔沒問題就可以, 不過公文數大個學都可以,好似補習咁既方式, 相反, 珠心算就唔係, 個訓練一定要年幼開始, 過左就過左. 效果就無咁好.珠心算既訓練都可以用係小學前期, 我外生小一, 數學成績都差不多80幾90分, 算幾好.佢其他一些小3, 4 的同學, 都沒讀公文, 我啟番佢地的數學科, 確實唔錯差啊, 差不過大部份都A. 除珠心算外, 佢地都沒讀其他. 佢地個質素好好.好聰明.

你既仔的情況好似我姨生以前咁,不過你個仔只係唔鐘意數, 我姨生就唔係,樣樣都唔鐘意. 去年初, 我們經友人介紹幫佢報左個珠算班, 起初佢係很討厭同唔鐘意, 過了一段時間後, 情況就好唔同, 間中心會用不同的方法引導佢的專注力及興趣, 再進一步幫佢建立信心.依家佢不但愛數學,而且還有番自己的興趣, 不過, 這種情況, 家長一定要有耐性, 好以姨生咁, 差不多過左大半年後,才改變下來. 對數開始有興趣. 佢同我地都要耐性, 才有今日的結果. 所以,你不防試下珠心算, 應該可以幫到你小朋友.
