I think your friend's daughter is very smart or she has an excellent academic background.  Would you mind let me know the detail how she can get a "seat" in St. Mary in early July.

Yes, please tell us.

My impression towards SM is very good.  I have a very good friend - she was a graduate from this school (years ago of course).  She scored A in English (syllabus B).  Details of the rest I do not remember.  She then went to the States to study.  

Her mom knew me also, and she recommended me to put my daughter to SM when she is due for school.

my daughter should be in 1A too, but i have given up my daughter's place in st. mary's this september. we are not coming back from canada due to some other personal reasons. i have 25 marks straight in to get the place. this really makes me feel very unhappy as i love st. mary's very much, i even cried for several nights.

i know the head mistress, she is my sister-in-charge when i was in Form 1. She is a very nice person, take care of students very much. If you choose SMCC, you must keep in mind that you need to give more time to your daughter on her schoolwork. SMCC is a traditional school, a lot of work to do.

Dear St Marians' mommy,

How would you compare St Mary with Maryknoll?  In terms of standard in both the primary and secondary, homework load, school activities, students' discipline, students' sense of belonging,  etc..  If you know the answer of the above, please share.  If you also got an offer from Maryknoll, would you still stick to St. Mary?

I'm just curious to know as I will need to apply a primary school for my daughter who will be in K3 in the coming school term.  Very seldom I can find any Maryknollers' mommy leaving messages or opinions about Maryknoll in this forum.  But when I read the messages under this topic, I know that many former St Marians also chose St Mary for their daughters.  And many teachers now teaching in SMC are old girls as well.  Both the headmistress and the teachers are committed with tender loving care to the SMC girls.  I heard this from a SMC mommy and want to verify if this is true or not.  I feel so warm about this indeed and I now start putting more focus on this school instead of Maryknoll.  Please share.  Thank you.

I'm a past St. Marians as well. However, I heard that St Mary's is a "one dragon" school now. And also those students in Holy Angels can get into SMCC straightly? Is that true? But how many P6 classes in SMCS now and how many P6 classes in Holy Angels? As I know that there are 6 classes in P1 (if they didn't change).

Also, if I have only 20 points ('cos I'm not a Catholic), will my daughter have a lower chance of getting in?

Yes, SMCC is a one gragon school now. Both the students from SMCS & Holy Angels can enter SMCC straightly. SMCS has 4 classes of P1 only & the no. of seats is about 120. So, the chance of getting into SMCS is less than before.

I want to know whether the "另一間姊妹學校(港島區)" you mentioned above is St Francis Cannosian?  Is it really P1 first term learning P1 second term English?  My daughter will go to this school in the coming Sept.  Any more information about SFCS?  Pls advice.  Thanks!
