This was the only Catholic school we applied to so I guess I can't complain about discrimination!

I have also called the school a week before, same answer, that is, once the child has accepted the offer, no chance for lucky draw. The school lady even told me no chance for 自行分配學位.
How come even no chance for 自行分配學位? We already submitited the form last month.

I also don't understand why but the school lady only told that once the parents accept the school offer, their children need to give up the seat to be allocated by 自行分配.

I don't think region is very important. Most schools look at the kid's performance. Few years ago, they offered my elder son a place in the frist round. We are neither catholic nor christain.

It applies to all DSS. And most good private schools also do that. They give you a letter to sign and hand in to the education department.

Thank you. Actually, I think this is quite fair as this will avoid the situation that one child to hold several school places.
