my god, are these K3 homework? that he speaks and you write down?

利害!很難想像!妳女女一張圖畫的字數差不多是我女女整份功課的字數了...還有裡面很多詞彙我女女是不懂的,例如:走廊,簸箕等等...我以為她因為讀IS,所以中文,英文都會比較慢D,但現在看來,一是妳女女超班,一是我女女要更加努力了...

我女女正常一張圖畫是寫2句;第一份功課一張圖畫只寫一句...

對於英文老師,我個人感覺OK...可能大女都讀了8年...什麼樣的老師都有...她算是一個正常的外國老師...

沒錯，是她說我寫，一字不漏的紀錄下來，沒有任何加減。

這可能是因爲她自小就說普通話的緣故吧，其實她上面所說的都是普通話的口語而已。再説，她所口述的這些，嚴格來説還是馬馬虎虎的。

SIS的K3中文功課並不是讓孩子們去抄抄寫寫，只是看圖后自己講出來，然後家長幫他們寫上去，我覺得這跟本地local學校相比一點也不難。

而我女兒在班裏也只屬於普通的那種，她班上還有些更厲害的同學呐。

你別客氣啦，yyyy，你是知道的，我女兒因爲在家裏說普通話，所以才能說出這些日常的詞彙，就像那些以英語做為溝通語言的家庭，他們孩子的英語詞彙就肯定比我們這些說中文的孩子要豐富得多。

我女兒決不是超班，有更超班的，只不過人家沒拿出其佳作與我們分享罷了，別大驚小怪的。

she speaks and you write , that is a happy learning process because that shows to children "words do have meaning, and kids can also write".

Thks for sharing your daughter's picture compo again, I was really impressed by the strong chinese vocab that she used. Frankly speaking, her chinese is much better than mine

Most of the time, my daughter only watch the DVD cartoons and we only allow her to watch 1 hr on the weekday. If she ask why, I will tell her to compare with  her cousins as my sis  does not allow her kids  to watch TV on weekday(with this reply, my girl will keep her mouth )
Like you, I do not watch TV unless she is not at home or when she is asleep. Hence, I am not updated with the TV programmes for a long........time

有一事想請教。

這次的英文功課，有一部分是叫孩子們分別將long e sound和short e sound的文字圈出來。我本身不懂phonics，所以，想了解，當第一次接觸這些生字的時候，應該怎樣區別long e sound和short e sound呢？例如說，我們都知道：
1）eagle, ear, equal, eat, evening, Easter是“long e sound”；
2）elephant, elevator, egg, elf, elbow, Eskimo是“short e sound”

.......但是，假若是第一次看到它們的話，是怎樣就知道哪個用long e sound、哪個用short e sound呢？

這是國際拼音的問題,英文字母"e",有時會發i:衣)=long e,通常ea放在一起都會發long e=i:音;有時會發"e"音
long "e"
eat:

short "e"

Sorry for the late reply as my computer is down for the past few days.
Regarding the English homework, I did not help my daughter this time as I have never learn phonics before and don't know how to differentiate between the long 'e' and short 'e' sound. I can try to ask my daughter's teacher on this Friday when she go for her phonics lesson, ok?

昨天送細女返學時,她又不自覺同我講國語,她說她忘記帶"兒歌本",我說不打緊,她說老師會"批評我"...我會好驚的...

她又糾正我說上次幫她找的葉不是from the tree,我即時醒起我們真是由那些bush那裡採集的...她又說老師帶她們看學校的"bambo",應該是bamboo吧!是真的嗎?

你女兒會說“驚”，我想你就不需要太擔心她讀書的問題，因這説明她懂得“緊張”，代表她很重視學校的事情。

我女兒和工人在路上撿了一些樹葉，並收集起來，但等到拿回去學校的那天，所有撿回來樹葉已經變得枯黃了。

這個星期天下午，我會帶女兒跟她班裏的另外兩個同學的家庭一起去看“灰姑娘”，希望屆時孩子們看的開心和投入。

I had already asked my daughter's phonic teacher regarding the difference between long and short 'e' sound. She told me that long 'e' normally follow by vowels(eg. ear, eel, eager....) and short 'e' follow by consonants(eg. elevator, elf, escape....)
But some words like erase, eleven, erect....are pronounce in long ' e' instead of short 'e' sound. Hence, she suggests to check the dictionary to confirm the sound.

I also picked up the leaves from the plants instead of the tree. So far, my daughter's teacher did not say no. Her teacher send us email asking the parents to help the kids to do rubbing of leaves at home so as to prepare for the 'show and tell' in the class this week. Does any of you know how to do the rubbing of leaves

Dear all,
I had checked with my daughter's teacher how to do the rubbing of leaves. She said just to trace the leaf on a piece of white paper with dark colour crayon.

你孩子已經開始"show and tell”了嗎？我女兒他們班還沒開始呐.....你們班是什麽時候開始的？

我女兒昨天參加了校際英文朗誦（我自己在外面幫她報的名），同場，還看到其他4個身穿校服的SIS學生。我沒有去，但我先生說她的表現比想象中好，而且沒有怯場，唯一美中不足的就是沒有笑容。

My daughter's class started the 'show and tell' this week. According to her teacher, the class is divided into 4 groups to present the 'show and tell' each day.
I am sure both you and your husband must be very proud of your daughter for her good performance
I still remember my daughter was very nervous and did not smile on the stage when she was doing the English story telling in her former kindergarten last year. So it is very normal that your girl don't smile.
Is your daughter going for the chinese recite?
My daughter will be going on 29nov.

我女兒的中文朗誦是下個月16日，還有大半個月呢。

這個星期一，應我女兒同校車的一個小朋友媽媽的邀請，下車后，就去了這位小朋友家裏吃午飯和一起練習朗誦，因爲這位小朋友好像是這個星期就去比賽了（明天吧?）。

我女兒在家一直都只是朗誦，但今晚終于肯在我面前加上動作了，感覺不錯，希望到時候臨場發揮也是如此就好了。

妳真是一個超級勤力的媽媽...為女女安排很多課外活動...妳知道嗎? 我女女說要學騎馬,她告訴我妳女女已懂得騎馬也...

原來校際比賽是可以自己報名的嗎? 會不會很複雜?內容自己找嗎?

哎呀，不要太相信小朋友說的話，我女兒沒有學騎馬，也不會騎馬，只是她曾經讓馴馬師抱著騎了幾個圈而已啦。

如果想報校際朗誦，可以通過外面的教育機構或中心報名，很容易的。朗讀題材是按照年齡來劃分成不同級別，而每個級別的内容都是一致的，方便評分嘛。

昨天聼我女兒說你女兒玩的時候摔倒了，應該沒大礙吧。

我今天下班去了sogo，為HKFC的carnival買禮物，商場裏人山人海的呢....

原來是這樣,怪不得我女女說她最叻是游水,還說可以教我...其實她只是靠著救生衣才能游也...

多謝關心,女女是大細眼,她說有一隻蚊入了眼睛,但說不是在學校撞到,而是睡覺時撞到的...

女女今天提我要還"圖書",還說中文老師叫她要"努力",因"j"同學仔已讀了很多本書...哎! 我想我要努力些陪她讀快一點兒了...

妳那麼快就買了禮物,我還未買...
