Thanks Principal.
It seems that not many parents are here in this discussion forum.

Anybody here in the forum attend PTA, how about their activities and their relationship with the school?

I have looked at the Campus TV, it appears that the kids enjoyed the schooling and I hope my child will have diverse experience in the learning instead of only having academic growth. The multi-cultural environment is one of the attractions. The other attraction is the localized nature of the school. School culture will definitely affect a kid's value and motivation.

PTA:-

There is a PTA Committee and the various PTA helpers are very helpful. Whenever there will be school events, they will set up a booth and provide a lot of fun to the pupils.
If you want to join PTA as Committee member or helper, you can fill in the form in September.
The PTA Committee members will be voted by all TSL parents.
For more details, go to the school web site and click "Parents" and then "PTA".

Campus TV:-

It is very good training for the crew members as they will be trained on how to present something in front of the camera with confidence.
The same applies to the pupils being interviewed as well.

Multi-cultural environment :-

The school is a mini cosmopolitan because the pupils come from many different countries.
Pupils should learn how to respect others from different nationalities/cultures and get along with each other harmoniously.
As you know, the world is "flat" now.
Our kids should learn how to be a successful "global citizen".

Principal,

Do you know why the prev topic on TSL (the one opened by kawaihappy) is not found under "全港小學"- TSL ?

Cos that one is quite difficult to find now.
Other topics on TSL were moved over, but not the one I mentioned.

I can still see it.
Go back to the old version of BK and then go to the top of the page and then type "TSL" on the search engine and you will see it.
Please try.

Want to say something now!!  

Personally I prefer our forum to be kept here so there should be higher hit rate than staying under 
"全港小學".
Is it a must to be moved??

Please be advised that the school bag should have at least 90% in red.
The
school bag you suggested do not meet the requirement.

As for your information, some of our students use school bags from SPI,
you
may try that one. Please be reminded you are voluntary to buy school
bags from
any companies and of any brands.

Don't panic.

Several parents have already expressed our views on this today.
Please go back to "小學雜談" and find out that relevant topic today.

Mrs. Li is going to retire.

We will not know 100% the impact right now but according to the information provided by one parent this afternoon, we should be more positive on this matter.
Please see below in BOLD.

Not sure whether the news is reliable or not.  Learned from some parents and teachers that the new principal would be Mr Yeung who is now the head of PLK Chong Kee Ting Primary School.  According to the source, his leadership style is very similar to Mrs Yuen's.  Therefore, you do not have to worry much.  You may go to his school website to check out how he runs his school, http://www.plkcktps.edu.hk/homehk/start.php.

Changes could be positive as well.

May I ask about some queston about this school ?  Is this school will see about the background of the kid parents.  Such as if  live the public housing Distict and not high education  (only F5 standard). I see may parents in here they are very good in English but my English are not so wwell, therefore I really want my daughter can study in English School.   On the otherside, I worry if she really study in here, I can follow or not.    Pls comment !!

RACHEL04,

I think the school counts a lot on the applicant's performance in 
the interview.
The school  will not consider where the applicants live nor their family background.
If you go to TSL's web site, click "School Information" and then "School Buses" and then "Bus Route (Bus 1 - Bus 31), you will see where some of TSL's pupils live.
Then, you will realize that TSL's pupils/families come from "all walks of life" amd a lot of them are rather down-to-earth.

As  I said before, please do not under-estimate kids' potential.
If  the chance is given and if the right learning environment will be provided, kids are very fast 
learners.

Please give your daughter a try.

1) TSL 中文科是否用普通話教學
    or由幾年班起中文科採用全普通話呢?

2) 聽說是一人一樂器,那麼學生可否不參與呢?

1.  Agree with Principal.  The most impt thing is your kid's performance.

2.  Think of it this way :  you can learn with your kid !

1.  In our case, from P2.  (My son will be in P3 this Sept.)  But in Term 1 some Chin teacher may use some Cantonese, to help those who can't quite understand.

2.  Encouraged, but not compulsory.

Agree with Principal and Blue Star.  All depends on the performance of the kid.
