SSCPS:

Tuition fee: $52000 a year
Transportation: around $1100 a month
Lunch (not lunch box): $600 a month
At least one musical instrument. For my son: piano (learnt outside school - $1200)

Most of school activities are optional.
ECA provided by School staff, like English, Chinese and Maths clubs, sports team, Green Corners etc are free or less than hundred dollars a term.

We know SSC will change to DSS in 2008/09, I also receive information from senior management of SSC that SSC will also aplly for IB at the same time. If this is so, will it affect your decision in choosing primary school as other DSS /non DSS  school such as St Paul Boys and St. Joseph are not using IB in secondary education.

I really doubt that St. Jo is 1間好o既學校, in what way? I can't figure out a single reason!

St. Jo Secondary seems to have a high academic achievement but the reason is not due to its primary school can offer a good quality of education but just its excessive screening process.  It can successfully screen out those non-exam machines.

On the other hand, the curriculum, facilities and relaxing atmosphere of St Stephen Primary can foster a good development and learning environment for kids.  If a kid can achieve an excellent academic result at the primary stage, he still has a lot of choices for other secondary schools if he doesn't want to stay at St. Stephen Secondary.

重有就係, 如果第時成績差唔多, 由st jo去St Stephen都易過由St Stephen去st jo
所以冇咩理由唔揀st jo, 而揀St Stephen

其實當初去年如果選擇St.stephen,就已經放棄大抽獎，因為學校需簽名確實,一般選擇此校的家長都很清楚她們的理念,又知道自己小孩讀哪種學校最適合,St.Jo中學學生每個人都知讀書好,但不是每個家庭都可習慣,正如有些家長選國際學校都唔揀Local school,雖然有九年免教育。 : 世事無絕對既！

Yes, you're right, and a coin has two sides.

Everybody has his/her own cup of tea and personal circumstances.  Like my former maid gave up her daughter's seat in DGS (a dream school to many parents having a daughter!) when she was offered a public housing in the New Territories about ten years ago.

Of course St Jo has quite a lot of "好o既學生" (I don't think we can call them good in fact), because St Jo excessively screens out those what they think "less good" students and recruits a lot of those they think "good" students.

Your points cannot imply that St Jo Primary can offer a high quality of education. Can you see the logic of your argument!  

St Jo is not good at training up students to become good. St Jo is only good at kicking out "less good" students!!!

I only said that those achieving an excellent academic results can consider to apply other schools if they wish. If they really wish, St Jo will surely not their cup of tea.  There are so many secondary schools much better than St. Jo Secondary, e.g. SPCC, DBS, La Salle, Queens, Wah Yan... etc., just name a few.

Only those parents who don't know about education but only blindly pursuit on "brand" but their kids were not smart enough to be admitted by those real top brand schools will have the above statement !!

If you know a little bit child development psychology, then you will understand how a child will be hurt if he/she cannot promote to the secondary with his/her friends if it is due to the academic reasons.  Besides, you should learn more about how a child's psychology development will be seriously affected if he/she is continously under an extremely high pressure at early childhood stage.

Is it compulsory for boarding students for St Stephen's? The news release gave me an impression that every kid should be boarding in the school.

ST Stephen - the only thing I don't like is compulsory boarding, but still OK for boys
ST Paul Boys/高主教
St Joseph - the best part is tuition FREE

If money is not a concern, ST Stephen's language environment and spacious campus is very attractive
It is my no. 1 dream school for boys too.

由今嗰年度開始Ｐ.６學生必需寄宿，一年宿生生活，其實只有四晚不在家中睡覺，學校生活很有規律由6:30起床，晚上9:30就上床睡覺，又無得打機同 睇電視煲卡通片 其實當他們一班同學經過一年生活，依份友情是很難得的，我建議家長可從她們的網站留意下宿生片段。

差不多所有現時有直屬英中既津貼小學都同樣面對，
當然包括你心儀之St. Jo，什至MCS、LS、MSS.....
大家都面對相同問題，何以只得華仁前境不明？

唔使勞氣, 以上四間都係好學校, 無謂分次序, 我地做家長只想比最好仔女, 但始終要讀過先知, 有沒有高年班家長可以入來分享
