對呀！我去年起就覺得自己也是一個小學生了.  亞女就真正上學, 我就做了遙距學生.  溫習是我先行, 然後才跟佢一起温.  

今個星期三要中默. 篇幅大約是一年級的2-3倍.  叫亞女背熟個課文, 佢話要我同佢一齊背喎！仲考返我轉頭.  中默未準備好, 等明天放學後才温習, 因為明早要英默, 臨瞓前幫佢試默了一次, 覺得佢串字方面比去年進步了.  

對於各位繁忙的媽咪, 我用以下方法幫亞女默書的. 你們看看是否合用 :

1. 準備小記事簿兩本, 一本記英默內容, 一本記中默內容.  

2. 將默書範圍抄在記事簿內. 英文要用MCS書法.  我就自己抄俾亞女.  你們忙的話就叫亞女抄好比你檢查, 看看有否抄錯.  這樣Day 1就温習了一次, 而你們就会清楚默書範圍.  (因為用這來温習, 千萬不可抄錯呀!!)

3. 叫亞女得閒就看看這兩本記事簿, 記下啲生字.

4. 星期六、日就算出街都帶埋本記事簿.  有時間就叫佢串生字或背中文課文俾你聽.  可分幾次做, 而一日內共花10 - 15 分鐘就夠了.

5. 默書前一日幫佢讀默一次.  錯了的生字要改正.  抄幾次後再幫佢默一次錯了的生字.

主要原因是英默有My Pal, WP & Reading, 溫習要用三本書, 好麻煩, 而且要記住默那幾頁. 這個方法就方便携帶而且集中了三本書的範圍在幾頁紙內, 每天或隔天只需花5-10分鐘時間陪佢温一次.  我去年用這個方法, 效果不錯.  亞女的默書通常都有90 - 100.  當然亦有因大意失分的情況, 不過平均分都可以做到EX的.

The answer to the first one definitely - HERS.  
The answer to the second, perhaps - BOTH.  Learning to be a primary student and learning to be a mummy with "appropriate" support.

Can anyone tell me what are the scopes of the coming Chinese & English dictations?
I am not sure whether Yomi has completely written down the points or not!

Hi yomi,

For Chinese dictation, you can refer to a sticker in Yomi's handbook. It should be 語文書第一課 and 默書補充(一).

For English dictation, it should be WP and My Pals, but I can't recall the exact scope. Will check it out and give you a call tonight.

My girl feel very sleepy everyday too......

Don't be upset, try your best to go home a bit earlier and give her support

Perhaps, if I were you, on one hand, I will be heart-broken to learn that my little princess was punished; on the other hand, I will treat it as a "lesson learnt" to remove undesirable behaviour.   

Try to think the positive way.  Imagine, if her habit of talking in class can be corrected as early as in the first month of P1, your daughter will be a good girl in the eyes of teachers for the rest of her school life and will not have problem behaviour in higher form when the conduct mark in the Report plays an important role.   

Sometimes, a teacher who dares to hold a stringent requirement to her students at the first day she notice an imperfection is a teacher who really cares and who nutures excellence.  (Of course, provided that she is not doing that simply for the release of her emotion)

In this moment, she need your comfort and positive support.

Thanks for your suggestion.   

Your tips are very useful.  In particular, your approach to English dictation is a great help in doing revisions in small bite, consolidates the content from different sources and even workout the requirement of MSC penmanship.  

We have a saying that "What stands behind a successful man is a good wife".

Perhaps, what stands behind the excellent mark is an excellent habit nurture by an excellent mummy.

Have you think of get up early and send her to the school bus instead?  She will be more happy than she sees you at night before she sleep, as she knows that she is not the only one who gets up early.  Even there may be only 5-10 mins is very better than nothing.  Remember "Quality" is better than "Quantity".  During the waiting time, you can talk to her a bit about her yesterday school life, or tell her what to do today.  Even revision for the dictation before she gets on the bus.  Last year, when I sent my girl downstair, I read her a bit of the news which I think she will be interested or need to know.  Moreover, you will meet the girls from different classes/levels in the pick up point.  That's how I know the 2 girls, one in 2D and one is P.4 in my building.

Yes, it is very good to wake up together with your girl in the morning.  In fact, I wake up with my girl every morning and we prepare her snack box together during that time.  She likes this period of time and I find this very useful.  We can do some last minute revision on her homework and some chats before she  gets on the bus.  But, I have to admit that I go back to sleep right after she gets on the bus.   

Today, I redo the dictation with my girl and she is finally getting there.  But still her words are flying on the paper without boundary.  I just wish tomorrow her teacher can "catch" her words and doesn't deduct too many points from it.

Because I am the one, who prepare the dictation notes for her.  Now, I am very good at the MCS writings.

I do the same thing as you do "wake up with my girl every morning and we prepare her snack box together", after she get on school bus, I go to "jogging"........then take a shower and go to work.....


"her words are flying on the paper without boundary"             same as my girl !!!
