Just confirmed by my son today NO dictation ah. But from next week, will back to normal and those characters learnt last semester will also be tested.

Thanks for your greetings.  In fact my boy's birthday is end of this month.  Yesterday he had the 1st celebration at school.  

I asked the cake shop to deliver to school.  The cake shop promised to deliver it during 9-10am.  And my boy told me that the teacher told him that the cake arrived at 9am, very punctual.

My boy's result is satisfactory!   

Alas!!! I forgot to revise the Chinese words with my boy yesterday!  Hope he can still remember the ones he learnt!

Today he asks me about DEATH, my goodness, I don't know how to answer his critical questions!

There are no extra cirriculums for the kids.  SJ is a very traditional school. They focus on kids' self discipline, behaviour and also their hand-writings.  They have dictations twice every week, and a very formal assessment/exam every term, with a very traditional report.

My boy was studying in Victoria Kindergarten before.  That was a totally different school.  They focus on their creativity.   They don't have any formal assessment.  They only assess children by their daily performance.

SK1, for my own opinion, you have to decide which kind of school suits your kid.  What kind of primary school you are going to apply for, before you make a final decision.

    My son was sick starting from Monday night, had fever.  He stayed at home for 2 days already.  Now no fever but started to have running nose      Hope he can back to school tomorrow lah.

My son's exam results so-so lah.  Some are satisfactory, some not.  His teacher is very 'sharp eye', pointed out the weakest weakness of my son during the interview, very accurate.  I also heard the teacher reported to other parents their boys' weaknesses.  

I don't know other parents' thoughts but I like the teacher's style very much.  We as parents really need to know the real performance of our boys at school, right?

Dear All,
I am new to this chat room.  My son is studying in SJ K1 class B..anyone's kid is at the same class with him pls?  His name is Woody.
My son seldom talks about his school life at home and therefore, I don't know much about his daily life there but after reading your mails, it helps me a lot.  
My son brought his 'good kid card' back to school yesterday but Ms Chan gave me back all the cards.  Do you know if there is any specific date for changing gifts pls?
