Yes, they took pictures for the "stars"! I got 3-4 for my boy when he was the star that month.

I know drawing is a good thing to do.  But can you imagine that when my boy is drawing a car, he makes the sound of the engine!!! If he keeps on drawing for 2 hours, his mouth is non-stop for 2 hours!!!!

There was a time I asked him, why his buses were soooo noisy, his answer was," Yes, coz I am driving a NOISY bus mah!!"

Yes next month.  
My son told me yesterday that their teacher said next month there are 6 boys who will have their birthday so they should only buy small cakes.

I didn't hold another party for him, just relatives came along.  Anyway, he was happy and satisfied!

Last year we also had the birthday party at home, invited our neighbour's kids (who are all my son's best friends) to our home, eat and play, etc.  Very happy      

Another consideration is holding birthday party, even at McDonald, is quite expensive. not value for money.  

So if at school, they have party, their own cake and presents, etc. and then have photos back.  More than enough la.

I held one for my daughter when she was five. I think I will hold one for my son this year. Fair ma.

I'm thinking about taking my boy to Disneyland on his birthday. though he has been there twice already because I hearsay 'birthday star' will have some privileges inside Disney.  But his birthday is a school day so very headache.

I think it doesn't a matter if the birthday is not the dictation day. He just a K2 kid and need the happy and playing life. It is a special day in disneyland.

Disney?? Wow! Great!! I am sure your boy will love it!!

Just imagine how happy he will be! No school that day, with so many cartoon characters sharing his happiness, GREAT MEMORY!!!

   I also agree you take your son to go to disney on his birthday. It is an amazing day and give he a surprise . I think he will be very happy. I also want to go but my son don't like these cartoon much.
   I want to ask a urgency question----when will start the chinese new year holiday? As I know,  the date of holiday is  25/1 to  3/2 .  I want to confirm because no further notice form school. I just according the old notice from parent day.

Here is the urgent answer - yes, the school holiday will start from tomorrow, that means today is the last school day before CNY lah.

I only hearsay that 'birthday star' will be given a badge at customer service counter, staff at the counter will sing birthday song for you lah, then I think those cartoon characters will be more nice to you if you wear the badge.  Perhaps not a big deal for adults.  But for kids, they may feel very happy for that.

my boy's coming birthday not only on a school day, but also on Wed., the dictation day ah.....     :cry:

    Thank you for your urgent answer.
  What do you decision on your birthday --to school or not?  May be held on the birthday party on later Sat. I think the kid don't mind. Always be mind is the parent not the kid. They just only enjoy playing no matter the exact day or  not.

Refer to youngmami said, the "birthday boy" will be given a "birthday badge", that means it must be that "very birth day", not earlier or later, right?

Anyway, I think that is a great idea to spend the day with your boy in Disneyland!!
