So glad to be in contact with other 1P class parents.

The teacher did not issue bookMAX material to my son as well. He told me that students are not able to borrow the bookMAX books from school library by their library cards, it will only be given by the teacher. Be patient, I guess the teacher will issue the material according to their ability in the due course.  

Do you mean Tuesday instead of Monday (last Monday was a holiday)? I'm not quite sure cause my son was absent from school last Tuesday & Wednesday due sickness. His My Day Book stays in his school bag on Thursday & Friday after schhol and he still completing the dairy and book reading everyday.

My daughter said My Day Book was collected by the teacher on Tuesday and still not yet return them to the class.   She also told me that the book marked "BX" are not allowed to borrow from school library by her library card.  
So u are right, I should be patient and waiting for the arrangement by the teacher/school.

我大仔是培僑的學生,細子出年是小一生所以我也幫他報讀了培僑,但我只給他報了這一間學校沒有其它的back-up,因我很喜歡這所學校.  但眼看這兩年報讀的人數很多,競爭很大.  我很擔心就算哥哥是培僑生弟弟也不能入讀.

請問有沒有培僑家長曾經和我有同一經驗或知道其他家有同一經驗,結果是給培僑收了或是不收了??  可否分亨一下經驗. 麻煩大家給我報報料.  多謝!

好明白你嘅煩惱，如早前所說，我亦只報咗培僑，touch wood講句，如果唔收，要從新部署。

你呢，萬一....會有咩打算，尤其哥哥喺另一間小學，情況比我可能複雜，cos I only have one girl。

最後希望我哋都成功，咁就有伴。

sounds like so far we have not heard anyone getting the info about interview yet, as the application period has only just passed.  But the briefing and discussion was that the interviews will take place at the time you mentioned.  Don't know how many applications this time but surely the competition is keen.  I wonder how they can finish all interviews during those 2 days!

在學校間放日當天校長曾經說, interview會安排在10/28及10/29兩天進行.

直資學校沒有世襲收生的習慣, 即不會因有兄弟姊妹在該校就讀而有優先, 因此可以保持學生的質素. 兩位最好致學校查詢培僑有沒有另外.

聽聞校長有意把每級5班降至每級4班, 以騰出部份樓層給學生輪流嘗試寄宿. 另從前幾天的貼文得知培僑今年的收生比率大約是5-6收1, 如果學生投考的學校組合有類似的收生比例, 以簡單的機會率計算, 學生考5-6間才有機會獲得一個學位, 所以孤注一擲是十分危險的. 至於考5-6間學校是否辛苦, 視乎家長和學生的取態, 如果只許成功不許失敗的話, 壓力一定很大, 如果只抱著盡力而為, 拿取經驗的心態, 便可輕鬆面對.

此外家長們在盡力尋找資料來揀選學校時, 有沒有想過世事變化萬千, 難以預測. 例如人與人之間會產生不同的化學作用, 包括家長, 老師, 學生和同學之間互相影響等, 實非資料搜集和理性分析可以推測入讀某學校後的好與壞, 因此別一面倒的看好或看壞, 安然面對得益和困難, 升小後大家才會好過.

normalguy is giving us some good advice!  Yes it's making me very nervous these days, even though we do have a back up plan to go into gov't school.  If PKC is having a ratio of 5/6 to 1 it sounds quite similar to last year's.  To me it's just very hard to pick, from the school's perspective, as every kid is innocent and cute, especially at this age!  I also agree with what you said about "chemistry" because without having a kid studying in the school, it's still remote to judge.  And every kid is unique and different and may suit one or the other school.

雖然只揀咗培僑一間真資，唔代表放棄官津（因為有二十分，入到第一志願應該幾高），只是覺得囡囡讀培僑會開心啲啫。

可能之前講咗好多有關PKC嘅事畀囡囡知，倒轉佢依家成日話要讀PKC，其它都唔考慮，所以又要做心理輔導，話畀佢知其他仲有好多好學校，唔一定要讀PKC。

1. 該校除中文(普通話) , 其餘都是使用英文嗎?
2. 該校只使用普通話及英文?
3. 課餘活動情況?
4. 學習是否比較輕鬆? 功課數量不多?
   在簡介會上, 老師表示會觀看小朋友的主動性, 如小朋友較為被動, 英文及普通話能力也不好, 是否表示較難取錄呢?
  非常擔心!

面試既嘢，7分實力，3分運氣，擔心都幫唔到d乜，可能放鬆d仲好。

d小朋友主動學校係treasure既，因學校既教學模式係需要小朋友參與好多活動同遊戲。另外，識寫字肯認字都有着數，因為學生係將來會睇幾多書，又要玩english drama，中文又要唸唐詩(用國語)，寫吓字(但唔係我地以前默書果種)，如果國語同英文有d底子我唸學校會認為學生會較易適應小學既學習。

I've visited the student web, that's really amazing! I especially like the P1 Chinese composition as the teachers always give positive comments to students. And I'm surprised to know that P3 students would learn mind map (I never learnt this in my primary and secondary school life).

I find that most of the class/home works give many rooms for students to show their creativity as well as to develop their writing skill.

After reviewing the student homeworks, I trust that your kid can learn a lot at this school.  And I like this school even more now

多謝你的意見! 其實本來我都係懶懶閒, 所以, 我一心只想報培僑, 因為我鍾意此校比傳統小學少功課(我仔仔不喜歡做功課的)。不過, 到了簡介會之後, 眼看周邊的媽咪都好緊張, 又太多人, 就覺得競爭大, 加上我仔仔性格較為被動又慢熱, 所以, 擔心他interview後, 入不到此校。現在我想如果他小一考不到好的學校, 小二再考培僑, 不過, 不知道成數大不大?

事到如今，妳緊張就會搞到個仔都緊張埋，加上佢layback既性格，會有反效果。唔好再提interview，話比佢聽係去新學校參觀同新小朋友和哥哥/姐姐玩遊戲，改變佢對面試既感覺，等佢放鬆d參加可能效果仲好！

小二再敲門，我睇機會仲細。
