Hi 太陽媽媽 & KMTmama,
Welcome to Hoi Ping. My son is promoting to F.2 and he enjoyed his F.1 very much. I'm sure your kids will love their school life here.
For the first month, all F.1 students are requested to stay in-school during lunch time. And they will stay in the classroom for lunch. Each of the F.1 student will be assigned a peer tutor (a senior student). The peer tutor will come to the classroom and chat with them and help them to get familiar with the school.
From the second month onwards, F.1 students can decide whether they stay in the school or go out for lunch.
As for the lunch itself, they have many options:
1- Students can pack their own lunch boxes;
2- Parent can send lunch during lunchtime (parent eat with them together at the cover playground area);
3- they can order lunch from the school lunch supplier (not the school tuckshop and the food is not attractive. Most students order lunch from the supplier for the first month);
4- they can buy lunch boxes from tuckshop (around 5-7 choices a day);
5- they can buy snacks (e.g. noodle, sandwiches) from tuckshop;
6- they can dine out. Most popular place is 何文田廣場, but some prefer to walk down to Tokwawan
7- there are some mobile food stalls (义燒皇飯盒車) outside the school... but the school doesn't encourage it because of the hygene concern (however, this is one of my son's favourites)
My son ordered lunch boxes for two months, and stopped as he complained the food quality. I think it's partly the reason, but the main reason should be peer influence as many of his classmates no longer do so. After they get familiar with the school, option4/5/6/7 becomes their preference.
Hope this can help. Any further question, please write. More than happy to share. |
