Christy is a very smart girl.  I agree that it is difficult to teach the kid who is active and has their own way of thinking.  You may need to spend more time in teaching her the proper way of behaviour.  Don't put too much pressure on yourself.

The schedule of Christy is similiar to Ellie except the nap time.  Will u let Christy to go to playground in the afternoon in order to spend some of her energy ?  So she can sleep less but still can go to bed earily.

hi all moms,
Did your kids ever complain that the school bag is heavy?  Today my girl told me the same thing again, this is not the first time she say so.

In her school bag, there are:
1 cardigan, 1 book, 1 snack box and a small bottle (really small) which I only half filled it with water, just in case she wants to drink some water on the school bus.

What's your comment?  I think the school bag itself is heavy.

NB. She brings a blue ball to school today and the teacher said she's correct.

Is it usually to use the phone contact? or Face to Face?

the teacher (NF) said that they will call the parents once a month. If you have question want to ask the teacher, you can call the school and leave a message for your kid's teacher. Please tell the receptionist that is not urgent and let the teacher answer you after class.

           I'm the teacher who works in Tin Shui Wai. After our gathering on 18th Sept.,when will we gather again? I haven't received the invitation from the teacher who lives in Whampao.Although Yetta (my daughter)went to see the doctor three times within Sept. ,she still insisted to go to school.She hadn't get fever,she'd just had a non-stop running nose.Dr.Lau said that it was related to the school environment.How about your kids?I have a little bit confusion about the kids' and their mothers' name.Besides Ellie,who is studying in N Blue(a)?I agree with you, Christy is a very smart girl,as my daughter can read not more than 5 Chinese words only.But she can sing all the songs & rhymes that she learnt from the school.What Chinese words can Christy read?Are all these words she learnt from St.Catherine? Dear All,

My son is also studying K1 in St. Catherine's. He can read English story books (around 20 pages with 10 to 20 rows each page) after I read together with him several times. He can recognises many many English words but cannot spells the words. Every Sunday I used to bring him to library and borrow a few books. He reads around 5 books every week.  He is interested in English words. Whenever he comes across English words when we go out together, he will ask me to read them out to him. But he can read not more than 5 Chinese words. He is quite reluctant to Chinese because he doesn't know them. I'm a little bit worry about this.

I would like to know whether your boys or girls of same age group can read story books now. I want to share experience with all moms.

Dear Richsmart,
My girl is studying K1 in St Catherine's.   My girl can read some Chinese story books after I have told her the story a few times.  I know that she cannot understand the Chinese characters.  She tells the story mainly base on her memory.  Sometimes, when I tell her the story several times, I try to change some of the words I used before and she will correct me immediately.  That's really fun!  In fact, my girl doesn't read a lot of English books.  Sometimes, I find it difficult to get suitable English books for her (both in terms of interest level and the level of difficulty).  I would like to ask you what English books do you read with your son.  Can you recommend some to me.  Thanks.

Ellie only recognise the words that taught in the class.  So only 人, 口 & 耳朵 !

How's your holiday? My girl can read Chinese words more than English, she can't recognises 26 alphabets until now, but she likes chinese words, and always pretend a teacher 去寫筆順，橫、直、撇、勾等等.....佢識讀好多個中文字，都係pre-nusery 時學既，有d係我教囉，因為我買左一d字卡幾好，好大隻字，雙面，有圖，佢見親中文字就跟著寫，水、土、人、田、口、手、文、大、小、木、火、天、山、雨........都可以讀到。但英文就只係識講，識寫幾個，佢見人講人話(cantonese)，見鬼講鬼話(english)。
Richsmart: My girl can read story and likes to pretend teacher to tell a story to me, she says "one day,a little girl......." but she's not patient on it, she likes painting, art work......
Sweetybee: I recommend you to buy one series story book, which is good, their story are related to moral education, e.g. polite, share.....The name is " BRUNO.........." you can visit their website to know more about it, www.brunobear.com, you can buy from SOGO, and another bookshops.

Yetta also read that english poem to me.But she missed the first sentence.Tweety,thank you for telling me about the beginning of this poem.霖霖18,the same as Ellie,my girl can recognise the chinese word that she learnt from school only. Besides,she brought some blue toys to school this Thursday,but she brought back home at the same day.Did she bring late?What do they need to bring next week?Tweety,have you applied any other kindergarten right now?
