Re: Think International School

jujuy & WYmom,

My son cried when we were separated at the school main door.  He knew he would be taken into the classroom without us so he kept holding my mother's hand.  Miss Liu carried him and he cried a lot.

However, he soon be ok after going into the classroom.  Miss Liu said he watched for a while and started playing.  When I picked him up at 11am, all children were singing and dancing.  No one cried and everyone is happy.

I'm glad that my son can play with the children so soon.  I hope he'll be ok on next Mon.

I paid the reservation fee yesterday.  Although it's quick to ask us reserving K1, I'll probably let my son stay there.  I've reserved K1 am bilingual class.  May switch to whole day class if my son really like to stay in school later.

my daughter is in LNB.  she's studied in Think for several months.  I'd glad to hear that your son could play without crying so early.

Re: Think International School

WYmom,
Thanks for your infomation.  Frankly, I could see my daughter's Cantonese and English has a great progress.  I could also see some upper form kids speaking fluent English in Think.  You know, I just wanna give the BEST to my kid.  I don't wanna regret if she couldn't go to the good primary school.  I'm still considering........
I like this school because of the teachers and the language standard.  I just worrying about the kindergarten-primary path.

Re: Think International School

jenny234125,

The principal also told me that most of their K2 students (over 90%) were accepted by ESF, so they have less K3 students remaining.  Don't know if you will consider ESF, I am considering it as an alternative to good local primary schools.

Which one dragon school you have in hand?  Is it Tsing Chun?

Re: Think International School

WYmom,
Thanks for your info.  In the previous messages, you've provided us many information.  It seems that you're always have chance to chat with the principal.  Do you see the principal when your daughter go to school or after school? Maybe I seldom have chance to pick my daughter up after school, so I have no chance to chat with the principal.  Anyway, you're nice to answer all mom's questions.
I still collecting the information about different dragon schools.  Any suggestions do you have?

Re: Think International School

jenny234125,

I did not have chance to pick my girl up at school.  I only called the school to talk to the principal a few times when I needed.  I also talked to her personally when I attended the X'mas party.

I discussed with the principal in details before I decided to register for K1, as I have similar concern as yours.  I feel that the principal is quite knowledgeable and helpful, she can tell a lot info. about selecting primary schools.

I know one dragon school can avoid a lot of hazals and uncertainty.  However, I do not intentionally select one dragon school, unless it is super good.  I will select a school with primary and secondary, but does not need to be 100% one dragon.  I believe my girl needs to work hard a bit to compete for good schools, and also needs to adopt changes of schools, accept different challenges from different schools.  I want to put my girls to better and better schools when they grow up, according to their capabilities.  I personally prefer this rather than betting my kid's fate in one school for 16 years.  This is only my view.

Re: Think International School

Today is the 4th day of LN.  My mother said he cried when she was leaving.  廖主任 allowed my mother to go into the classroom for a while.  There were couple students crying as well.  My son cried again when my mother left the classroom but he was soon be ok after being accompanied by 廖主任.  Maybe he was focused on the play and toys so forgot his grandmother.  Haha!

He looks ok when my mother picked him up at 11am.  廖主任 said he was happy in the class.  I think he'll probably cry again tomorrow.

Re: Think International School

jujuy,

My son had tea before leaving school.  He had tea as well on last Fri but I don't know when's the tea time.

Hoho, your son is a big boy now as he knows to say "唔駛喊" and "bye bye" to the new students.  Very good!

Kiu Kiu was in the playgroup with my son.  She's sweet and cheerful.  I'll PM my son's name to you.

How's your son today?  Is the 敏感 better?

廖主任 called me this afternoon.  She said my son 'stick' to her in the whole morning.  He's also willing to play with Miss Cheng but like 'sticking' 廖主任 more.  My son is happy in the class especially the English session.  My son likes to sing and dance.  Haha!!  Maybe he thinks it's playgroup.

Re: Think International School

jujuy and WYmom,

FYI, I talked to a colleague yesterday regarding to the book price.  His son is now studying in Victoria.  The books for K2 is around HKD1500 per year - HKD7xx per each term.  He remembers the books for K1 and K3 are almost the same.
