is your son that serious ? since the medicine is not effective, it's not worthwhile continuing taking it.  do you know the source of the problem of his nose ?  maybe it's the fan, air con, plant, flower, dust mite...

Brian has running nose almost every morning and right after napping.  I guess it's the problem with the air con and dust.

He stopped taking the medicine since May.  Afterall, it's not effective.

possible.  do you have an air cleaner at home ?

my husband has also got running nose.  his experience tells that if brian sleeps with air-con on, when he wakes up, remember to help him put on a piece of long sleeve clothes.  don't turn on the fan.  only take it off afterwards if he gets used to the air w/o air-con or gets hot.

i also observe one behaviour of my son at school.  within 10 mins. in school, his nose starts to get bad (he will move his nose) if he does not put on the cardigan.  so, i guess i'd better help him put on the cardigan before entering the school.

see if the experience of my family works for you or not.

btw, have you determined to go for skin test yet ?

Have you heard about there is a kind of vacuum cleaner which can remove dust mite (use water), not OSIM. I have seen the demo and I really like it, however, it's too expensive ($19000), so I'm still thinking about it. Maybe that may help Brian's nose problem.

good la.  my son also joined the summer course at school.

it's raining heavily now with lots of lightning & thunder.  don't know the kids will be afraid at school.  anyway, i guess the teachers can manage.

Thanks for your sharing.  We used to put on clothes on Brian after his napping but he will still have running nose.  Maybe I need an air cleaner.  The air con in my home has the function of air purification but I guess it's too weak.

I will bring Brian to take the skin test soon.  I need to work in the coming Saturdays.  July will be a better time.

Do you mean the vacuum cleaner which can be found in the advertisement in Baby-Kingdom?

One of my relatives saw the demo of another brand of vacuum cleaner before and she suggested me buying one for the sake of Brian's health.  However, it's really too expensive (similar to the price you mentioned)

It's good to know that ho lim can join the summer course.  I am still considering about it.  I hope to let Brian joining a course outside LH, just to let him exposed to some new environment.

air cleaner may help.  and, i think you may know, no carpet at home.  change & wash the pillow case & blanket more often with warm water (50 degress suggested).  maybe you can also buy pillow &/ pillow case that can minimize dust mite.  and, there's a kind of spray that can reduce dust mite.  it can be purchased in bedding section of dept store.

Actually, I had seen demos of both machines (one from US and one from German). I like the german one coz it's smaller. Anyway, it's too expensive.

Preston got sick yesterday and did not go to school(luckily it's balckrain anyway). He got a high fever 39.4 and running nose and a little bit of cough. A lot of people got sick in this bad weather.

Thanks for your suggestion.  I used to change and wash Brian's pillow case and quilt once a week.  For the spray that can minimize dust mite, I try not to use it as chemicals are not good for kids.

Brian also got a fever (38.5) on Friday afternoon.  He had coughing and running nose, just like Preston.  I brought him to see a doctor yesterday.  His fever and running nose has gone temporarily but he still have some coughing.  Hope he's able to go to school tomorrow.  How about Preston?  Is he better today?

Preston still have high fever, up to 40 last night and >39 today. Down after the medicine but up again after a few hours. Luckily he still has appetite and finished more than half a bowl of rice (he wants rice for dinner and doesn't like congee). I just give him more water and keep wipping his body with water. My husband is on trip today so I just take care of him by myself but my maid promised to come back early. I don't think Preston will go to school tomorrow. Hope Brian is better.
Which doctor did you take Brian to ?

Too bad to tell you that Brian's running nose resumed this evening.  Luckily, his body temperature is still normal.  He used to vomit in mid-night when he was having a flu.  I didn't dare to feed him with much milk tonight.  Hope he will be fine soon.

I took Brian to Dr. Louisa Kwok in Whampoa.  How about you?

Seems that your sons get sick more frequently.  Of course, it's normal for kids to get sick from time to time.  I just want to raise if we can share any experience to keep our kids away from illness that often.

hello, can u tell me about the shoes your kids r wearing to school, for mon,wed, & fri it is black leather shoe?? can it not be black runners???   and tue & thu is white runners???
