我個人認為,如果小朋友pass了 second in, 學校又想收, 會即刻見家長, 講吓學校課程,等你收到offer時會因為了解咗學校而決定take唔take.唔見家長的話,機會好細.
我當日爸爸留在校外"看"車,職員叫我入去見vp, 佢都叫我盡可能叫埋爸爸入來.
所以最好爸爸媽媽都去stand by.

呢排的面試, 發覺自己的小朋友在english方面比其他的沒咁好....... 有點担心......

我囡囡都有2nd in 同埋家長一齊, 但最後都係收到SMC的Waiting list letter, 所以, 有2nd原來都唔一定係實收, 不過好過收reject信, 仲叫有一個希望!

My child got the reject letter after 2nd in, which didn't interview me. The previous postings mentioned that situation would all be in waiting list. So weird!?

His English is good; otherwise, he wouldn't have made it into TSL's 2nd in.

Big boy. Fit SMC's criteria like Eng. & dance awards. But he was shy & scared of 1-to-1 interview & so answered "I don't know" more than once.

For TSL's GROUP interviews (1st & 2nd), he performed well. It's unfair that the interviewer underestimated my son's potential by 10 min.'s time and his shyness. And he even couldn't get a waiting reply. Perhaps they thought I regarded it as a backup & so didn't want to waste time.

sometimes I also don't understand it all ...but i think that it doesn't just happen at SMC, i think generally most schools prefer kids that are talkative, outspoken, and esp those that are brave enough and able to express their thoughts even with "strangers" to them are more outstanding when they get a few thousand applicants in one or 2 days... I can understand their heavy workload. But honestly thinking about the issue, do we really want our kids to be like that? being able to talk to any strangers about themselves, hello, they are only 5... ! On the other hand, didnt' we teach them not to talk to strangers... ? They are not machines, why do we make our kids talk when we want them to talk, and make them stop when it is not needed. Kids are supposed to be innocent and pure. In my opinion, kids that are a little bit shy are always more well-behaved, and well mannered. Those that are not afraid of anybody will become too arrogant when they grow up.... hope i didn't offend anybody, it's just a thought......

Yeah, my son is "a little bit shy" but "well-behaved and well-mannered," which is what I've taught him. And I want him to stay "innocent and pure," not to mature so quickly. Doesn't it look scary that little children are so mature in some TV competition shows?

It's ironic that I expected SMC was easier than TSL as I could submit portfolio to SMC to show cert. & awards, which, I thought, fit SMC's criteria. And TSL would depend largely on interview performances. After knowing that my son would have SMC's 2nd interview in early Nov., I thought it didn't matter if he wouldn't get TSL's 2nd in. And to my surprise, he got it, but I thought that he might not need to attend it. However, things usually happen contrary to people's expectations; my son performed well in TSL's 2nd in but not in SMC's.

Anyway, TSL is pretty good, & if my son can get its offer, he will take it unless miracle happens on 21 Nov.
