唔好意思，今朝黃老師因為Cyrus係學校有事所以打俾我，原來係係學校做左個相架，加張全家幅上去，已經做左，唔知阿仔點解會講帶相架

Horace told me to stick a photo on the book as well.  And he said we have to bring a x'mas decoration to school... he's in pm K1A, not sure if it's the same for your class as well.

BTW, Horace also told me that I can play the card in the last page of the text book with him any time after teacher gives him a text book.  Does anyone know whether this is the case?

Jaime didn't tell me what to bring.  In fact every time I ask her, she'll say "leaves", you remember we had to bring the green & yellow leaves a long time ago! Funny Jaime..

However my helper told me that many kids brought x'mas decorations today, so I believe we have to bring a x'mas deco la!

So please notify us if Horace tells you what to bring!  Thanks!

To all SKH Mummies,

My son has accepted by 2007 SKH Central AM and Victoria South Horizons AM.....I need some advise from you.

Honestly, I prefer Victoria with more English because each class has 1 Cantonese teacher and 1 English teacher for the 3 hours.

Knowing that SKH is also a very difficult school to get in??!!! How are you position your child in English learning?? Is there enough practice during the school time?? If you were me, how do you make your choice and why??

Hi Rebecca ! It is such a difficult & personal question. Which school to put is all depends on you. Both schools are good with their own strengths & weaknesses.

My nephew is now studying in Victoria (SH)& my son study in SKH. I would say Victoria would win on the hardware (updated teaching material, toys, new school environment etc) and also the effort in English teaching (more native English speakers). Whereas I would say SKH would win on the software. Every staff from headmistress to amah loves the kids so much and the teachers really have the enthusiasm in education. They do not focus on profit- making like Victoria but providing a loving & caring environment for the kids.

Regarding English, there is only 20 mins a day in SKH. They teach Letterland & Oxford Reading Tree. The English teacher is not native but she could speak fluent English & she would not speak cantonese to the kids in school. If you ask me if it is enough English practice. It would never be sufficient.

Hope the above help. I can understand it is a difficult choice. Wish you luck !!

Yeh ! Horace mama. Yesterday Eugene told me to buy him Christmas stuff. I asked him what Christmas stuff he means, then he cannot give me the word. Luckily you mentioned about the christmas deco. Then we went to a stationery shop and he chose a tinsel. Today he is happy to bring the tinsel to school.

Oh! dear !! I hope Justin will get well soon. He infected two virus together, I guess you would be quite worried your boy & he would miss his school & friends so much.

The weather is getting cold, the kids will easily get the cold or flu again. Everyone pls take care !!

Jaime is also not too well, she has fever, sore throat & cough...but is getting better.  She's missed 3 days of school la!

I think it's better to wait till she fully recovers before going back to school.

Recently, I find that one water-dissolving tablet of Redoxon a day works out very well for Horace.  He likes to drink that too... so I give him a cup of Redoxon everyday before he goes to school.

And many thanks for Horace's Present, and little justin thought that Horace is another person who will buy him present, oh my god!!! Justin told me yesterday that he wanted Horace to buy another Thomas car for him....    Anyway, thanks for your gift and card~~~

I'm glad that Justin likes the present.  We are going to travel to KL on Dec27 so we may not be able to join Justin's party.  Happy Birthday to Justin in advance!

Horace said today before he left home that he really wants Justin to come to school today coz he has brought some sausages and he said he knows that Justin likes sausages!! I guess they will have a lot of fun today!

Dear SKH Mum,
Can share how your excitment on bringing your kids to SKH kindergarten by reading the post.
My girl is also accepted by 2007 pm class.  I'm also start puzzling at the moment.  She is now studying am nursery class at Creative Kindergarten.  But she speaks very little and will have speech assessment later (luckily, just speech problem).  Just want to know if SKH teaches fast and will pay enough attention to individual kid.  Do the kids all learn happily?  Do they have homework and love school?  Do they sing a lot?  Any Christmas performance and extra-curriculum activities?

1) Just want to know if SKH teaches fast and will pay enough attention to individual kid? ----  The teacher & kids ratio is 1:15. You can imagine it is quite challenging for individual attention. Nevertheless, when I ask my son's progress & behaviour in class, the teacher can answer me in details & give me a lot of useful feedbacks.

2) Do the kids all learn happily?----definately YES.

3)  Do they have homework and love school?----My son is only in the first term of K1, not much homework, prehaps twice a week, but I know there will be more when he is in second term and K2. My son loves school a lot, this is no wonder.

4) Do they sing a lot?----yes mostly chinese songs.

5) Any Christmas performance---- yes but only for internal even parents have no chance to see.

5) Any extra-curriculum activities--not that I know so far.
