Of course not,  because LS use cantonese to teach most subjests. I'm Chinese. I belives I can be the first best cantonese teacher of my son . We use the old chinese fresh card and chinese homework (St.Cat) to let my son to make sentence. We go to library to borrow many Chinese books almost every week . And have chinese story telling and quiz time every night (most Eng playgroup like that but we speak cantonese). In fact, it really tired after off work. My son's chinese not bad now. However, If I were you I might not choose CCKG unless your 1st choice is DBS. One year ago,no one told me LS chinese homeworks quite a lots however CCKG Chinese quite "'shallow'' ( my big son only P1 this year). If you choose CCKG, it does't matter. Most CCKG accepted students are smart. If you work hard with your son too, no problem to deal with chinese subjest in a chinese family. Trust you son!

Thx Felix. Your sharing is really good. So do you want your younger boy to go Ls or will try DBS as well? My husband would like my son to join CCKG , he said he would then have more chance in DBS or St paul co Edas well. I beleve the Chinese in St cat is not strong anyway, even my son study in St cat, I will hv him to take more Chinese related class outside. I believe CCKG is a good school and since they are small I.e. Not like the size in St cat, the teachers should be more care, right?

My situtation is different from you.  I have to go to work everyday. I've just familiar the LS cirr. this year. I have no more time to familar two cirr.(DBS & LS). So even DBS accept my little son, I choose LS most probiltly.Two sons go to the same school is convinence.

Just wondering if your son got offers from all the 3 schools (LSPS, DBSPD and St. Paul Co-ed), which school will you (or your husband) choose? I assume your husband's an old boy so will he prefer the kid to study in his alma mater?

Hi Charwes, my son just got accepted into CCKG for K2 the coming year. I am just thinking in advance and plan for it. I really dont know how I decide if 3 schools accept my son ( a bit too early to think about this now though) but since I still have my younger son and if he couldn't get into CCKG then his probability to go into LSPS will be even smaller if my elder son go to other school. Really need to think about it. But anyway, I will let my elder son to study CCKG for now.

似乎關係不大! 因為喇沙係政府津貼小學，係跟據居住地區派位，所以就算小朋友讀名牌定係屋村幼稚園，問題都不大，只係升小一後是否追得上，因為有些幼稚園無乜功課做，另外有些就日日幾樣!

當申請自行分配學位（乙）項類別的人數超出其學位數目時，校方須按照
下列「計分辦法準則」甄選學生：

1. 父／母全職在與該小學同一校址的幼稚園或中學部工作 （20分）
2. 兄／姊在與該小學同一校址的中學部就讀 （20分）
3. 父／母為該小學的校董 （20分）
4. 父／母或兄／姊為該小學的畢業生 （10分）
5. 首名出生子女（即為家庭各子女中最年長者） （5分）
（上述5項只可揀選一項）

6. 與該校的辦學團體有相同的宗教信仰 （5分）

根據呢個表，大仔+領洗+適齡 已經有20分。即係話差唔多人人都有，但如果爸爸係喇沙仔，已經在第一part多取5分，咁就穩陣一點。你可以在每年公佈第一round自行分配學位時，上喇沙小學的網頁睇下，睇下 part 1 (必收，即係父母係小學教職員或者哥哥正在就讀)都有唔少人，再睇下當年多唔多係25分 (爸爸係喇沙仔)，計完計淨先至到20分。幾年前亞仔就係20分，聽聞有幾十個小朋友係20分，經"抽籤"後，得十零個入到。

所以20分真係好窄 !!!!!!

Each year, intake 90 kids in round 1 & 90 kids in round 2. There are usually ~45+ places for 25/30/35 points. and should have ~ 45+ places for 20 points. The total number of applicants are ~ 1800+ each year (including 35, 30, 25, 20, 15 or no points). You can work out the probability.

咁考小學睇唔睇interview表現架?咁我同老公都唔係讀名校,又冇宗教信仰,BB係大仔,即係得o個15分,即係完全唔駛諗去考名校囉?

No interview & no chance  for 15 points in 1st round but can still have chance for the remaining 90 seats by lucky draw in 2nd round.
