I guess the teachers are busy at distributing various circulars concerning both enhancement and remedial classes for different grades and different subjects in these few days.   
Some classes and grades may receive such circulars a few days earlier than others.

Also, there could be slightly different criteria used for the remedial classes.

Oh, yes.  My daughter was come from SKH Sadick.She has no classmates go to TSL with her.  But I think kids can easy to make new friends.
In fact, she is a little bit lower than the standard level of TSL students, as you know most of them are come from  "名牌幼稚園" or international kindergartens, and Sadick does not push the students while the "名牌幼稚園"would push the students since K.2.  But I think Sadick students are creative and smart,  I know some of my girl's kinder's classmates can get 頭十名in Yan Lap Memorial.
So, how about your elder kid, which kinder she come from?  Will you consider to let your younger kid to go to the same kinder?

I have sent an enqiry to my son's Chinese teacher and asked her if it is possible to put my son into Chinese remedial class.:loveliness:

My elder kid was from Creative Primary School's Kindergarten in Kln Tong. My elder daughter likes her old school but it is expensive (no govt voucher) and far away from home when we take into account of 2 kids now.

I have just learnt SKH Sadick from books and its website.  It seems the school is providing a very creative environment for children to gain different experience.  Am I right?  But I know they have only 3 English lessons a week. Do you think they can provide the English standard that is sufficient to meet the standard of TSL? How about PTH? Is SKH Yan Laap a very good primary school that is so hard to get in? Sorry that I have no idea because I live in Yuen Long.

I heard that Sadick's some good teachers were gone.  (just for references)

All English lessons are taught by native English teacher~~PTH also taught by a teacher come from Beijing,  But the teahcer was gone already, I don't know about the new one.

YAN LAAP & Yan Laap Memorial are the most famous school in Kwai Chung.The main reason is that every year, more than 30% of their graduates will go to Lam Woo Secondary school which is top 3 in Kwai Tsing District~

You live in Yuen Long?? so why don't you choose Yuen Long Kindergarten??Is there any good choice?

Hi, Flostangraphy,
The Chinese Enhancement program will be started in this Thur. and I hope I can share to you more later.
So, I think the best person to answer your questions now are our Principal in this BK. Here is what he answered me before:

"The main criterion is top 10 of that particular subject in a grade." [So, I think most of the case, the kids are from Chinese stream. Personally, I thought my son's English is very good. But once I thought of the kids in French stream and some kids from international school, I think it's reasonable that my son is not the one in the Eng. Enhancement Program.]

"If the timing is okay, it should be a good chance for your son to join such class.

As the name of the class implies, the main objective is to further enhance those pupils’ level of that particular subject by providing an extra class through some worksheets and small-class discussion."

Just would like to take this opportunity to share my feeling on "HK Chinese". I think HK parents spend most of the attention on English but neglect the importance and the difficulty of Chinese. I was once sent to Beijing for work 3 years ago (my son accompanied me at that time). I had an experience of writing a simple fax to confirm the customer visit. I spent 1 day to draft the fax and gave it to my Sec. for typing. But my Sec. in Beijing said that she can't understand the fax content and she prepared for me using much better Chinese. It's really shame to tell this story but this is my HK Chinese.

I think there is still a lot of room for improvement for the Chinese teaching method in HK. But at least I appreciate TSL uses PTH to teach Chinese.
I used to have a Beijing Chinese tutor for my son but recently she doesn't teach him as she moved to other place (or the tution fee will be very expensive). So, I'm still looking for a good Chinese tutor from Mainland China with reasonable price. Look forward to any referal.

Don’t think too far at this moment!!  

There are two hurdles for you/your son to clear before Nov 23.
Please be more focused for the time being.

Yes, most of the parents in HK tend to put much emphasis on their children’s learning  English.
But at the same time, we should not underestimate the importance of our children’s learning Chinese.

And that’s why flostangraphy is so concerned about the Chinese Enhancement Class for his son!!

Not only flostangraphy, I also hope that my son has a chance to taste the Chinese enhancement class one day.  His Chinese average mark in second term of P1 was 78  , my target is 88  in P2:loveliness:  and then 98 in P3

You know I couldn't sleep for whole night last night!I did Chapter one Chinese dictation revision with my son for couple of weeks but he still couldn't memorize many words.  This really upset me so much!

Based on your escalating expectation, that means your son needs to get 108 marks in P4 and 118 marks in P5 and 128 marks in P6!!  
Just like the bonus questions in TOBS and the extra marks in dictation, he has to get all additional marks at all times in order to meet your expectation.

Dear all
Anyone knows?Has the school started to ask the student join the subject Enhancement class yet.I just know they had chinese subject in last week. Most of the student they recieved the notice is chinese suject only.What about the other?thanks

Actually, I am not so good at maths at all.
This is the best I can do.
Don’t “challenge” me with any harder maths questions!!
I will be too ashamed to show my inability!!  

Sudoku appears to be too difficult for me!!
