HI ! Dear All,


Do anyone know that if girls can wear "lastic Water Boot" when heavily raining or Under Typhoon???? Like tomorrow ??

Pls help ?

未必可以.  亞女瞓咗, 問唔到佢有冇同学穿水靴返学.

不過, 家長會時, 校長強調要穿整齊校服才可以入学校.  她舉例說有学生回校上芭蕾舞堂, 穿了校服但着芭蕾舞袜.  她說這也是不可以的, 要穿白長袜才對.  

如果着水靴,相信在入学校前都要換鞋. 小朋友已经要孭書包、食物袋, 落雨天又要拿雨傘或雨衣. 如果加埋對水靴都幾論盡, 不如放對白袜入書包, 告訴她白袜太濕就替換吧.

By common sense, I assume we can wait until 1:15pm (normal hour) to fetch our kids.  Any advice

My girl (Hayley) told me her "neighbor" is Natalie, not sure is your daughter or not ????

It will depend on the time when red or black cloud signal is on.

If the signal is on before the school starts, then, no school day.

If the signal is on during school hours, the classes will continue and students will be released as normal school hours.

For typhoon :
#3 - still need to go to school.
#8 - no school.  If the typhoon is hang up during school hours, for those who take the school buses, school bus will leave the school within 1 hour after the signal was on.  Parents should figure out the pick up time for their girls for the pick up point.  For those with private pick up, parents should arrange the pick up immediately and fetch the girls from school ASAP.

Do you know the meaning of that small piece of paper which sticked on the top left hand corner of the timetable in handbook ????

Stated "GS" with 6 date ???        
I guess -- to bring "general science" in these 6 days instead of "常識" during Wednesday" , am I right ????

Thanks for your help.   

I fetched my daughter from school today.  
While waiting, we were worrying whether the little girls would manage to get down from the slippery steps safely with their big bag, small bag, raincoat ....

Fortunately, at the last minute, Mrs Lo altered the arrangement.   My daughter said, when they lined up and ready to got down from the main door, Mrs. Lo said the parents might worry about the kids;  she then asked the staff to call the parents to come up instead.     

This morning, I looked at my pity girl walk up the sidewalk with her big bag, small bag umbrella  ...   :cry:  A mom told me that the kids have to walk up by themselves despite heavy rain.     

To comfort myself, I try to think on the positive side, it may be a "trainning" for their "grow-up"

You are right.  Even my girl is not "small" at all, I still think the school bag is too heavy for her.  Actually, even for me.  Her school bag alone is 2 lb in weight.  With the books, it becomes 18 - 20 lbs.  Other than the school bag, she also brings the snack bag and her lunch flask.  In rainy day, the umbrella as well.  What can we say?  Only lucky thing is her classroom is on the ground floor, so she does not need to carry all these for a long walking distance.  The longest distance will be from school bus to the covered playground, which is unavoidable.

Last year, the news said those professional suggested that the school bag should be less than 1/10 of the kids' weight.  My girl is around 60 lbs, 1/10 is only 6 lbs, this is not possible to achieve unless they all use e-books!!!  I really don't understand why the books are so heavy.

for P1, there is "READING" session, and I expect students have to bring a story book to school.  So far there are three story books namely"Starters", "Old Dog Tom" and "Little Chick Chick".  Which one they have to bring? My daughter said she has to bring all three to school!

The incident recalled the sharing of her daughter's Maryknoll life from my friend a year ago.  

Her daughter loves the school and enjoys school life very much.  There is no particular problem in completing homework and satisfying the academic requirement.  But, in P1, she was "broken heart" when she saw her daughter dropped in the sidewalk and came back with "hurt mark" in her legs.
