Sorry for my very late reply. My daughter submitted the application on Oct 15. Well, she has been declined by both Oxford and ICL because of the MAT result is not that competitive , I think. Her brother feels upsets of hearing the reply from ICL as the Maths performance of my daughter is higher than him. My son is a graduate of ICL this year but so regrettably ending up without graduation ceremony.
Still awaiting the result from UCL & KCL though. Anyway, hand it to God!

Hi, my daughter has once tried to do so right after she has received the result but failed. The system doesn't allow.

My son has applied for ICL too.. oh ... by the way, you said your daughter’s MAT result is not competitive... so that means we can check MAT results now?

Normally MAT score will only be released after Oxford has sent out their offer (12 Jan 2021).

Yes, student would receive MAT score by Jan 12. But as far as I know, Oxford would only offer an interview to whom reach the required standard on MAT test.

Retrieve part of the reply letter for yr reference as below stated

' Mathematics, G103; starting on September 2021, at point of entry 1.

This offer is subject to you obtaining Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education with 5* in Algebra & Calculus (Extended Mathematics), 5** in Core Mathematics and 3, 3, in two further Core subjects excluding Chinese. You must also achieve EITHER 5*, 5 in two further Elective subjects and grade 2 in any STEP/ 6.5 in TMUA OR 5*, 5* in two further Elective subjects. '

From above statement ' ....and grade 2 in any STEP...' , I wonder ! My daughter does not seat for any STEP test so far bor.

The date for STEP exam 2021 has not been announced and normally it will be right after A level May session

My daughter has just explained to me, provided that she has 5* 5* in further 2 elective subjects instead of  STEP exam.

Yes.  Since most of the Oxford applicants' PG are more or less the same, MAT is one of the most important factor for shortlisting interviewee.  This year the average score (58) of MAT is much higher than that of the past 4 years (50, 51, 51, 45).  I expect the average score for interview invitation will be around 70.

I also chatted with my son about your daughter's CO.  He said the most difficult part is to get 5** for core Math. No margin for careless mistake.

Also, since DSE result will only be released on 21st July, I believe that your daughter still needs to sit in STEP II as an insurance.  If so, better to spare some time to prepare.  STEP II is even more difficult than MAT.
