Really? My daughter didn't tell me ar though I bought both already.
But I remember that the teacher mentioned that the dictionary is used at home. Do we have to buy one for usage at school, and one for use at home?

I think it's not a must to bring dictionaries to school. Whether to leave one in student's drawer all depends on the teacher's practice and the student's personal wish.
If the kid knows how to use the dictionary, it's not bad to put one in school as there are a lot of book-reading sessions in KTS. I think they will find more fun during reading if they could understand every word thoroughly.
"Whether to buy the same dictionary twice"...... my opinion is not necessary to do so unless your kid finds great interest on that particular dictionary. Anyway, if you don't mind to buy same copy twice, I'd recommend you to buy one pocket-sized for school and one normal-sized (larger font) at home.
The 2 dictionaies recommended by school are of elementary level. They might not satisify the kids' need when they promote to upper forms.
Just my 2 cents, hope it helps :)
