hi PHmami.... KV parents said KV's english is ok, but compared to SC, its oral and listening are weak D because there is no NET in Kentville. Thus, most KV's students like to join Phonics or oral courses outside.
However, KV's Maths and Chinese standard are quite high. So, it seems that no need to worry about these two subjects after the kids promote to Primary school.

Hello Safarimama and PHmami,

Since I decide my boy will go to KV, whenever I see kid in KV uniform on the way home after school, I will ask my baby to say hello and try to make friend with 'elder brother and sister'. I find most of them are quite shy to answer question in English, eventhough they seems to understand.     

I check with my cousin (their boy is in K2), they show me see their last yr (K1) exercise and examine paper, I find (as you mentioned) English is a little bit easier than Chinese and Math.

Any planning for outside phonics or oral class?

Also you mentioned they had field trip, did you know where? Oh, I really hope the school can at least have 1 outing a year...too much outing is too expensive but no is a bit...ur..'out date'?!?

I am thinking to order 2 set as well since their summer uniform for boy is white shorts and shirt, you know, boys usually not very careful... however, I wonder they did not have size for us to chose, did anyone know is it because at this stage it is difficult to  predict how 'big' our kid be like? Or, is it means they have 'free size'

hi TTmomAC....  Same as you, when I see kids in KV uniform on school bus stop, I like to pay attention how they act, and try to ask my girl say hello and  make friend with them. However, they are quite shy and almost no respond!

The outting is only for k3 this year. It's a trip to yau yat chuen post office. And I know, kentville held a sports day lately..... there are also christmas party, birthday party...., etc. Not really so dull!   haha..... I think that maybe the education approach of KV will change a little bit in the coming years.

我路過架咋...見你地講開擔心kentville既英文程度不夠深,其實我同你地一樣都擔心架..(我仔仔讀緊kentville K1)
我地K1既媽咪好多都同小朋友出去學緊PHONIC,我仔仔仲同5個同學仔自組左一班TIM..
而數學同中文方面,我真係好滿意,數學方面,學校唔主張用心指計數架...佢地用DOMINOS既粒粒,去令小朋友有個CONCEPT,好似而家我問個仔,1+3係幾多?佢會唸一唸番DOMINOS幅圖,之後就答到我架啦..
如果用手指計,佢而經可以計到好多架...6+3都好快計到..
中文方面,而家都學左60個生字LU...不過唔使返屋企溫架..佢地唔知點解咁犀利可以記得架.        [quote]
