Congratulations!My son was not accepted by Oxford. Replied that the MAT result was 87.
Only 3 applicants who did not take further Maths were being selected for interview.
Comments for he could not express clearly the idea during interview.
Not require for resit and take into account for new application next year.

Wow 87 is a very high mark! he should be very proud of himself!
No need to resit MAT next year to reapply? Would your son consider to reapply next year? It’s possible for Oxford while he is studying year one in other uni.
So, now what are the choices that your son is considering? If you don’t mind me asking.

Oxford replied that no need to re-sit for the qualifications already achieved.Further attempt would be considered entirely as a separate application.
My son will accept HKUST offer first and attempt Oxford again.
This time he will sit for Further Maths.

有無爸媽同我一樣， 仔女而家響英國upper six, 報緊明年入大 ...

想問下過來人爸媽，而家如果已經知道會firm 邊間英國大學，大家會幾時安排開學行程同買機票？洗唔洗等放榜先？
我哋打算同呀仔去開學，早兩星期去歐洲玩下先，然後早幾日去大學附近住，幫佢打點吓先走。
阿仔又未知會唔會去grad trip,所以我仲未買佢暑假英國返嚟&十月飛英國開學嘅倒頭來回機票。。。你哋嘅小朋友有無去grad trip? 通常去邊同埋係咪一放暑假就去？定係返咗香港先？

我哋放咗榜先訂機票。阿囡個grad trip去唔成，班同學仔各有各忙結果搞唔成。

我地舊年照first choice大學訂機票，佢開學前我地仲一齊去左蘇格蘭旅行，所以好早就計劃定所有野，至於grad trip佢係同以前香港的同學喺A level放榜前去。

大學開學比較遲，我唔太緊張，而且係業界長輩幫我出票，比出街買平好多。
原本打算同香港舊同學去日本，大家timetable唔一樣，好難傾。

Oh, 去唔成grad trip 好似有啲可惜。
我尋日無聊check 下阿仔first choice 大學嘅term dates/倒頭機票，Xmas/新年 break嘅BA 直航先$55xx all inclusive!

Ruby, 首先恭喜晒！

小小提醒，不過可能你已經知道。睇 oxford term dates 預先買定機票要小心，唔好跟大學官網果個黎買，因為官網寫既只係 week 1 - week 8。新生開學第一個 term 有 fresher's week，week 0 頭星期日或星期一要返到。跟住果兩個 terms 就要係 week 0 通常星期四前要返到 (唔同 college 會有唔同規定，要上 college 網站睇清楚)，因為 week 0 尾要考 collection，考返之前個 term 學既野。最後，trinity term 通常 week 9 考試，要遲一個星期先走得。

不過 oxford term dates 比較短，唔會同人撞時間，買機票通常真係會平過人地。

你講中咗我最初係睇大學website,不過之後check college 嗰個，真係發現college term start 早幾日，term end 又遲一兩日！
我見college 話new students can board on Oct 2, 所以諗住Sep 28/29 就到Oxford 住幾日，幫阿仔打點下啲日用品同熟習下環境，fresher week 開始我哋就走。
想問你囡囡第一個break,即係early Dec至 mid Jan 係stay 哂響香港？定係響宿舍留耐啲？college 會俾佢哋留嗎？

孩子年年 winter 都會返香港，因係果邊又凍又無咩野好做，亦唔會揀果陣去旅行。spring 就未必返，可以同同學去旅行，亦可以過倫敦做 spring intern。summer 一樣，可以去旅行、可以去做 summer intern (或者選擇返香港做)、第二年開始亦可以留係大學做 research assistant (如果 faculty 有開 projects 俾 undergraduate students)，總之會有好多 opportunities，佢自己亦會安排。

機票黎講，如果買倒頭機票，winter 可以一早買定，呢張通常都會好平，spring 就到時睇需要再決定。至於 summer 果張，亦好難一早買定，其實呢張都可以考慮唔買倒頭，一開始就買一張 HKG-LHR-HKG 學生票，開學去 summer 返，可能會貴的，不過勝在可以改日期同可以帶兩件行李。

至於 vacation residence 就間間 college 唔同 policy，可以參考下面︰

普遍來講，vacation residence £2x 一日，要預早申請，不過 12月有 interview 未必一定有位，同埋有可能要轉房間都幾麻煩。

佢哋自己唔緊張，咪由佢囉！而家又諗summer去韓國，唔知搞唔搞得成。
正如mamamolly所講，大學term dates唔似中學咁一目了然，阿囡D機票都改咗幾次。而且Easter又話返嚟，好彩tutor幫佢出面，accommodation office先肯同佢改宿舍contract，Easter唔收租！

haha! 我係為咗慳錢買平機票咋。阿仔都係孤寒型，所以我哋好少改機票，會叫佢就機票囉。
