You're superb to make a clear picture like a wake up call.  I do hope some parents ,who may have been daydreaming to have everything, would understand the difference finally.

Could you share what was the heavy price - lots of tutoring (outside or home by parents) or unsatisfactory results of your children? Thanks as your experience would certainly enlighten other parents

朋友的女儿就读CKY, 成绩算是很不错!  

多年来发现原来学校很想traditional school & international school 兼备, 因而各种学习是非常多又广, 家长和孩子真的容易消化不良了. 结果又回到成绩是king 的框架.

我想不少家长还是非常重视孩子的感受的.只是孩子的性情亦会因所处环境而受影响, 而不少学校愈发投资在PR & promotion 上, 各方资讯是局部开放, (隐恶扬善), 要掌握客观事实, 更不容易, 因而常见错配的景象.

经济许可下, 多点准备, 以便及早修正!!!!  孩子的健康成长是最重要!

视孩子的感受和成績也重要. 兩者都有當然好, 如要取捨, 可能是视孩子的感受吧. 因為, 有時成績是沒有得逼的. 中學時代有一個同學要考取好的成績, 讀了兩年中四, 兩年中五, 兩年中七, 結果也只是進了"嶺X". 她是運動健將但不是讀書的材料. 為了達到家人要她入大學的期望, 她放棄了教育學院, 強逼自己入大學. 十年中學, 太長了吧.

所以, 對於成績, 量力而為好了.

Do u think this has anything to do with the head of school or principal and lack of established system which led to chaos and the teachers becoming too free-handed?

just read the book 'Nothing is impossible' by Christopher Reeve. here is something about parenting suits me.

As parents we all have different ideas of what success means for our children. I think the most important aspect of success has to do with finding a real passion for something in life. It means a responsibility to live up to one's potential. That has to be discovered, it can't be forced upon a youngster growing up. From the womb they are already themselves. That must be honored, and they must be given the tools and opportunities to go as far as they possible can on their own.
