I did not go cycling with my kid due to the sunshine. What I was talking about 'Cycling' = 蓁蓁 rides a bike and I follow him with Oliver's stroller. He just rides within our estate. When he was young (it should be last yr), we took the tricyle to Century Park and we 追到气咳. Roller skating is popular in my estate. The youngest one is about 2 yr old.

Congratulations! Your working hour is becoming shorter and shorter   ..i.e. you will have less time to finish the same job.       

I think most of the childern in the kindergarten only wear underpants during nap time. As it is the summer time, I also request to change the clothes if necessary.

It is very good that you can enjoy both US and China Holiday.  You can spend more time with your son.  BTW, when you start your new job, do you think you can also join our lunch gathering as free as the present job?

Try to encourage your son to ride a bike.  It is good for kids.  Riding bike can develop kid's leg and arm muscle.  The kids also can learn how to balancing their body as well.  Have you ever gone to "Decathlon" Outlet?  They have various kinds of sporting goods for adults & kids in good quality.

Ha Ha.. Playing with kids is the one of the good exercises for moms to keep fit, especially for a mom has two kids or more.......

When I came to SH last year, I did buy a "hilips" faucet mount water purifier.  I wanted to mount it on the water tape in kitchen. However, I decided not to use it afterward.  First of all, when I came to SH, the weather started cold.  I knew that my maid used hot water for cleaning.  I thought it would damage the purifier or the chemical inside the filter would be desolved.....I guessed.  I can't prevent her from not using hot water for cleaning (好似唔人道).  Secondly, most of the family would order distilled water for drinking and cooking.  We did so and that's why I didn't use the purifier.  I think it is OK for this arrangement.  Think about, you can't prevent eating outside, right?  100% sure that all restaurants do not use purifier......

When I relocated to Shanghai, I was also scare many many things.  Now I tried to learn to take it easy, only scaring about the medical system in SH.

BTW, I will return to HK with my daughter in early July for summer holiday.  Although I am still very new in SH, see whether I can answer your queries while you are preparing packing up to SH.   You can PM me your contact no.  I might not have many chance to access at internet as I don't have computer at my home in HK.

蓁蓁 is riding the GoodBaby 16" bicycle with 辅佐 wheel. He rides this bike since he was 2 yrs 8 mths. However, he tells me that he does not dare to play the roller skating. He is afraid of falling down and painful now.

Decathlon is a good place to buy all the athletic equipments. We spend few hours in there for 'playing' sometime.

Of course I can join our lunch gathering. I'll go out very often in my new job. My office is in Shanghai Center, we can go to the Chinese Restaurant in Sogo.

My husband will go to HK next week & back on Sunday. I want to take this chance to arrange our kid+mom gathering.  Shall we go to Century Park on Saturday?  I guess your kids will nap around 2:00 pm, isn't it? Best we can gather at 10:00 a.m.

I don't like to take my daughter out when it is strong sunshine! In case we go out in daytime, I must put sun-block oil on her face and arms. As gal loves beauty ma!  
I also found some young kids (I think around 2-3 years old) playing roller skating in my estate. I really adore that their parents are so brave to let their kids playing this game!!! Maybe I am too conservative la, feel likes that game is dangerous for young kids!! :-|

Glad to hear that you got the new job, so you will no longer to deal with that "terrible" lady who threathen you before! (Or, your company has already fired her?!   ) Long time I didn't go to Sogo (久光百貨), I liked shopping in that supermarket and kids wear corner before baby born, don't know if anything change lately??

Then, any idea on which day we will meet? Will you be free in next week?

I've fired that crazy lady in April but she send me threatening messages from time to time. I just got one on Wednesday.  I was in very bad mood that day and tried to call her back & shout to her but she did not pick-up her phone - so I guess, she is actually afraid on what she's doing.  (but after my 'fire' is gone, I no longer wanted to talk to her) I've decided to change my cellphone no. once start my new job, totally get rid of of her.  Oh, that's what she wrote recently, "I'm telling you, our game is never over. Don't think you can get rid of me."  I shop once a week in 久光百貨, I buy pork/beef/steak there, because going to Carre Four is too far & expensive. I buy vegetables in local wet market, which is very very cheap.  I spent less than Rmb10 this afternoon and bought enough for whole week.

We can go to that Chinese restaurant next week, I'm not available on Monday & Tuesday.  You people decide!!

I fogot to congr. Olivier's first tooth! My son is still sick (running nose), slept at 9:00pm so I can have some privacy.

BTW, Nov Mama's ayi came here this morning, she complained my apartment is too big, far from where she lives etc... I have a feeling that she won't show-up tomorrow.

Sound's unbelievable to spend less than RMB10 for buying food for whole week! But, after my maid bought me 5 big tomatos and 2 onions by spending only RMB2, think that I could save alot money if not shop in supermarket! Also, I like the fresh chicken from local wet market, it is good to make soup ar However, chicken and fish are quite expensive as compare w/vegetable! (I'm so means after being mother!!!    )
Ha...I think that ayi may want to ask for more wage! But, I don't think the room size is a matter if the maid is efficient enough!

Hi, other mommies, how about on this coming Thursday, let's have lunch together? Or any recommendation?

I believe Nov Mum's ayi will turn up tmr. I have met her once and seem that she is not bad.

Elsa and I can't join the lunch on Wed. It will be perfect if we go to Century Park on Sat. Just worry about the rain. A new Papa John Pizza is opened nearby Century Park. We can have the lunch in there after going to the Park.

I have not been to Sogo for ages, perhaps more than 1 mth. I am used to buy the frozen 'sea cocount' in there but seems that no more now.

We bought a scooter from Decathlon yesterday. 蓁蓁 perfer plays it at home to outdoor...  :cry:

Hi all,

I can't go out now.

Remeber my son's classmate was sick. He was 'recovered' and went to kindergarten with the doctor's confirmation on Thursday. But I did not send my kid to kindergarten on Friday, just in case any childern got the foot & mouth disease.

The class teacher rang me this morning and told me that that student is sick again! It is confirmed that it is the foot & mouth disease. All the student will 'be separated in the classmate' for another week till next Monday. So, I am not going to send my son to kindergarten in the rest of this mth.

    

Let me call Elsa and Monica if they go for the 'yum cha' or not. Tell u guys later.

How come!!  Another lesson taught us not to trust the local medical system......好求奇!!!!  especially when you told me that the mother took her kid to see the small local clinic    

I will return to Hong Kong on 29/6 and will be back to SH on mid of August.  So we don't have chance to meet each other for two months la.  How about the "大長今"? Do you still want a Cantonese Version DVD to kill your time.  If yes, if Elsa can join us, can I give the DVD to her so that she can give you to view?

I have already sent SMS to Tina and Monica.  Monica has said yes and she will also invite Sally to come.  You just help me to check with Elsa la.  Thanks.

I don't know, but if no mommy is going to take kids, you can take your sons with you.  Any concerns?  Is that's your choice to decide not send him to school or the schools ask you don't go?  Are they going to refund school fee?

I'm still considering if I should send my son to the same school next year. I've spoken to his English teacher today, she will leave and work for Shanghai Community International School (I visited it & I think is a very good int'l school).  She agreed with me that children go to these kind of bilingual school can't learn English as they all speak in Chinese as first language. If I don't need my son to learn English, why do I have to send him to bilingual school & pay such expensive school fee?  So, I've decided to visit another local school this week & make a decision.  However, my husband said, the way we teach our son's English is different than native speakers. He said, if we live in China, it's sure that he can learn Chinese. But I don't totally agreed with him, learning English is easier than Chinese.

Anyway, my son's school is kind of cheating that they won't have English teachers during summer but still charge the same amount school fee.

My last BBS should be attention to Little Wing. I posted to the wrong person...sorry....

The kindergarten will refund the $. The principle has confirmed that another Foreign English Teacher will join the summer class while the current one will leave on July 1.

Our kindergarten is divided into Int'l Class, Domestic Bilingual Class and Local Class (no foreign teacher in this class). School fees in Int'l Class is a double of the Domestic Bilingual Class, that's why I did not arrange my son to join the Int'l Class: --> 1. It's not worth. 2. We don't speak English at home. 3. I want him to speak both fluent Cantonese and Mandarin before English. Recently, I find that my son can't speak fluent Cantonese, he directs translate Mandarin to Cantonese....  

Critic, perhaps u r better to send your son to Int'l School in your case. I have heard that SH Communityh Int'l School is so so but the local section is very good. If possible, visit more Int'l Schools in SH.
