Exactly, there are mandatory requirments. Not just as simple as "if they want". It's about time for Logos to register if they want to be IB in two years time for the high grades. I was told by a journalist of a reliable local newspaper who follows education news that Logos failed to register/be acredited  IB for high grades because of sub -English standard. Did anyone talk to the school so far to clarify this?

That's true that student can take local exam if they are taking IB, but not the other way round.

Dear papafung,

Yes, it is.  Thank you for your concern.  We know that our school has its plan and schedule to register and also to teach according to the IB.  Recently the school is in the preparation stage.  The job will be done by the school management.

Concerning your " hear-say " that Logos failed to register due to sub-standard in English, I'm sorry that we do not have such information.  I wonder if the source of information believable or not as you seemed to indicate that Logos has not started the registration process.  By the way, may I know whether you are one of the Logos parents?

If it were a reliable source, it would have appeared the next day in the headlines of the eductaion column. There is no release of such by the school. Parents would have learnt it directly from the principal himself. We are not interested in rumours like this posted by an outsider. Sorry!

I'm not looking for lunatic debate or smearing or blackmouthing the school which my kids are studying.  

As a parent of two kids who are studying in Logos, I do care about the development of the school.  Indeed, I have written to the principal to clarify this, but just want to know more from other parents.  I am relieved if what I heard is untrue and groundless.

Please take a browse at the PA website where there is a discussion about the topic. The school held a talk with the parents of DS3 a few months ago about the plans and steps for the application. I'm sure the majority of us is as eager as you to learn about the progress. But it is definitely untrue that the school has been discredited for what you've heard. Relax! We all care about our school's development for the sake of our kids.
By the way, thanks for taking part in this forum. I'm glad to see more parents sharing their views here.

I'm sorry if you found me offensive.

Let's wait and see.  One thing I have ascertained is that our Principal and the school management are confident in running the IB for our students and the rumour you have heard is groundless.  You are most welcome to share with us the reply from the Principal ( if any ), and to share discussions on other sensitive / internal / controversial topics at the PA forum, please.

For the captioned topic, I would suggest to raise at the Logos Parent's Forum which might also draw attention / get help from other parents.  You know this topic is of interest to all Logos parents.   

I believe KenBaba and deniset want to knock out all unnecessary RUMOUR which makes confusion.

Dear papafung,

As a Logos parent, I follow closely the school's curriculum. If someone told me that the school failed to be accredited for IB because of sub-standard English and no other factors, I will consider the information absolutely unreliable. Don't you agree?
