3/3 SPCC Interview

Dear Auntie 加菲貓,

面試分三部份，第一部份考中文，會先比篇文你睇，跟住收番，就答D問題（幾 easy ga，唔駛擔心），D老師都好好人。答完後，就到下一站考普通話，又比篇文你睇睇，叫你抽三張卡（時間、人物、地點）叫你作故仔。兩分鐘後……讀番篇文同埋講番你個故仔出黎（之前我作左個感動既故仔，佢就問我仲有冇聽過其他感動既故仔，我話有，佢就叫我講出黎）。最後係english，會先睇套5 min.戲，跟住老師就問D關於套戲既問題。最後，就比張卡你，係套戲既summary，中間有D洞，叫你fill in the blanks，fill 完就讀番出來。全程都有姐姐哥哥陪伴你到面試既地方，佢地好友善!!!^^

My son is only on the waiting list of SPCC on Monday and rejected by QC on Wednesday.  He is upset and didn't blame him anything and wait for next chance.  Personally, I did some research and see how to proceed.

Last night, I picked him up and we went shopping together.  We had a good chat, he told me what he learnt from this events:
1. He works hard and smart still have a chance, If he didn't, there is no chance at all.
2. He needs to realign his priorities.
3. He felt surprise for dad and mom so supportive.
4. Have faith in HIM

Lucky that your son is so mature. You know sons are normally still "wandering around" at this age. My son is one of them.

My son is not SPCC student anyway.

I strongly believe that he can be admitted to a good school through "Central Allocation" as he must be top band 1 student.

I worry about him because of his over maturity.  He recovered alot today, he has the gut feeling that he may end up in DBS.

My case is exactly the same as yours. You are very strong but I am not. Over these few week,  I was very depressed. SPCC, QC, ?DBS, I don't what to do now.

Fully understand you feeling.  You are the role model of your kid, no matter what's the result, you must face the bad news positively with him.  Take this as an opportunity build the family bonding and let him know you love him.

My son used to have the 2nd interview in QC 3 years ago, but at last he failed. He got rank 2 in the form at his school, awarded Po Leung Kuk Math competition 1st and 2nd prize, music awards, 6 grade distinction in both piano and saxphone, drawing award, and joined debate match etc. I didn't know why he failed, may be his PE was not good enough, may be the competition is very very keen in Q.C. up to now.

Now he's studying at one of  the EMI secondary school, he enjoys his school life very much. If he's a talent boy, he can study well at any one of schools.

Don't give up!  Add oil.

Thanks for your encouragement.  We don't give up, he still has chance for waiting list in SPCC and also wait for DBS result in April.  DP stage, he may get in CCSC.

My son's profile similar to your son, except music.  He may be better in sports and talented at Maths, English and some international exposures.  I think QC doesn't count much on gifted kids.  English, he got merit in PET at P-6, Maths, EPGY Grade 8 at P-5 and took the summer school in Stanford University last summer.
