If u think SPK is so unfair, u don't have to apply this school for your daughter.. no need to react so negatively wor...   

There is no 100% fairness & equality in selecting the students, only other kinders won't tell u how they choose the students... the reality is the more mature & brighter the kids are, the higher chance they can get into the school...  if u want a school to have 100% fairness, i don't understand how to achieve your "fairness idea" without using "criteria" to choose students wor?

There are about 3-4 (out of 15) born in or after June in my kid's group.

As a education organisation, the 'apparent image' is bad if it discrimates anyone in any means such as the age!
SPK has their own selection methods which I cannot challenge and I just mention their way shall improve.
No one challenge CCKG is better than SPK, but CCKG accepts small kids and small kids study as good as others.
Maybe SPK has no way to teach or they are not willing to teach small kids.
I am not angry at all. My girl studies at a well-know KG.

I agreed with fatping, who told the school is according the age to consider the child? no one knows, that's all guess by the parents, that's unfair to the school.

Also if feel the school is unfair to the 'small girls', why still to apply? at this moment, everyone are all feel nervous to waiti for the result. I saw & heard so many negative comments to the school every year... anyway please trust what you chose for your daughter (I mean the kinders for interview, if not good you won't apply, right?).

Actually I feel the school is according child's performance & parents' expectation/comments.  Just for example : if the child is Nov girl & very smart, the other is May but not very smart, you'll choose which girl? if the school wants to teacher the easy one, then must pick the smart girl la..

I congratulate u that your daughter is studying in a well-known kinder, i am sure your daughter had been accepted according to the kinder's "fairness" selection process...

in fact, your comment of "apparent image" of SPK selecting base on age is only "apparent" to u and it is just your own subjective image of this school, doesn't mean SPK had discriminated anyone to apply the schools...  there are examples from other parents that SPK DO accept "small girls"... only some parents stereotyped SPK and thought they only accept "big girls" as the ratio of accepting "big girls" is higher than "small girls"...  is there any reason behind why there are more "big girls" got accepted?   will it due to the kids performance as well?  

Also, your accusation of SPK not willing to teach small kids is quite funny, if this is so, this is really discrimination inside the classroom, but i guess all students (big & small kids) are being taught by the same teacher in the same classroom, right?

There are significant if not sufficient evidence that the KG probably does not accept small girls, staff also mentioned to applicants that later than August has little chance, I prefer they make their intention clear in order not to waste time and effort of those parents with kids later than August.
I have family members studying at the KG, which is quite good and I just point out that they should and could bahave better.
I did not apply the KG for my daughter because she is a small girl two years ago, she managed to enter a well-known KG by her own ability.
Anyway, SPK is a good one and I wish you kids can be accepted at the end.

It is natural that the bigger girls can perform better than the younger ones, especially at the age of 2-3 when they had the interviews.  So it's reasonable more bigger girls are accepted even if the school selects the girls based on performance but not age.

Hi, morning..

Actually my point is we only according to the static from here (BK) then to say SPK only accept big girls is unfair la..

Anyway I think SPK is a very good school, good teachers with experiences... find my daughter is willing to learn, aggressive, confidence... I feel very happy la!

I must say I am not the headmistress/insider of these KGs.  I don't know the exact criteria in the selection process of different KGs.  

I don't know whether and why CCKG and SKH accept similar portion of small kids.  So I will not have such sayings like "CCKG only accepts kids from rich families (or with connection) so they accept these kids no matter what age they are." Or "SKH KG doesn't have too many applicants, so they accept most kids no matter what age they are".  There is no point in making such speculations without proven evidence.  

If SPK doesn't consider small girls at all.  Can you tell me why there are some small girls studying in SPK now?  In fact, my daughter is a small girl.  And in the class there are some other girls born in Oct, Nov too.  

I think even the most popular KGs will not only rely on ONE single criterion in ACCEPTING or REJECTING an application.

You have your own opinion about SPK and no one will change whatever u thought of SPK's "apparent image" to u, however, your opinion is quite subjective and bias in judging a school... how do u know what percentage of "small & big kids" CCKG and SKH accepted?  Do u know their intermal statistics?  How do u know SPK only use "age" as the only criteria in selecting their students?  I am just perplexed why u will say so "unfair & prejudice" comments to the kinders without any objective evidence....    hope u can look at the kinders in a more impartial way...

NO! SPK does not accept small girls no matter how bright she is unless with special connection

YES! For CCKG of SKH if the small kids are good enough.
I do not think that SKH or CCKG has only a few applicants so they have to take small kids unwillingly. Maybe it is the difference between Christian or Catholic belief ?

It seems u have insider's information from SPK, CCKG and SKH for how they accept their students... may be u can share with us with impartial data and statistics to support your "fair" opinion?

however, your "apparent image" is judgmental & bias to me...
