I have relatives' sons studying in these 2 schools.  Both of them have very happy school life.  The through train system of DBSPD may to certain extend relief the pressure on the boys, but LS can have an opportunity to push away some boys who are not to standard after P.6.

I knew a parent who tried her best to arrange the ways for her kid to enter  into DBSPD, but her effort was in vain as her kid failed the interview. Nevertheless she evetually with relation got a seat from La salle, she could not but let her kid to La salle.
She now from time to time grumbles if possible she  still would choose DBSPD rather than La Salle.

Though she does not tell me the reason, it appears that failing to DBSPD is a regret.

Why do u think the parent you know is the one Rachethew mentioned? Only because she wanted her son to study in DBSPD and finally went to LS?

If the parent is a teacher in DBS secondary, his/her son can certainly get a seat! It's already beyond the performance of interview. Don't be so naive to think all acceptants did performed well during the interview. There are some  VIP will be accepted no matter how they perform during the interview.This teacher who Rachethew mentioned  just  didn't want to say any -ve comment of the school. You know , in his position,his comment is very sensitive.

My son is studying in DBS and he said that one of his teachers's son is studying in LS simply because the teacher does not want to pay.

After all, many teachers dislike their children studying in the school they're teaching as it would be quite awkward especially in times of tests & exams.

So letting his son study in LSC is quite understandable as it's a free and highly-recognised boys' school in hk apart from DBS.

一間有收生自主權, 一間沒有, 教法會唔同, 一間係新校一間有幾十年歷史,  而家你地係比學生定係學校地位?

Absolutely agree! But the problem is most of the parents think their children are already jade and cannot judge  objectively .

It may not be the same person. For the one Rachethew mentioned has been teaching in DBS (secondary school),how can he teach you son in DBSPD. Moreover, how can your son know his son is studying in LS simply because the teacher does not want to pay. It's can't imagine that a teacher would say that kind of matter to a student.
Anyway, I know  that many private school will redeem the school fee of it's staffs' children, "go to LS simply because he don't want to pay",I doult how true it is.

My son is studying in DBS (secondary section). I dont know whether we're talking about the same teacher but the teacher that my son mentioned is a PE teacher. In DBS, the teacher-student relation is really close as they really treat each others as friends, they discuss a wide range of topics including personal matters like these.

It takes years to built up the culture of a school.
LS Primary School has a history of more than forty years and DBSPD only has a history of just about three and a half years. All the pupils that have won laurels for DBSPD are all from other primary schools around HK and are not trained by the school itself.
It takes years to built up the culture of a school. Different children suit different schools. Besides academic results, I think we as parents should also consider how the school train the moral standard of his pupils and also the parents. Each child is different, a school may suit one child, but it might not suit another. Both schools are good schools. Good luck to you all. My choice? La Salle Primary

My son is studying in LSPS . He loves his school very much.LS's teachers are very nice.
But my fd's son who is studying in DBSPD said that there have discipline prombles at school.
If your son is not good at acadamic, pls don't choose LS, coz they are not 一條龍. And also every school has "bad student", so we no need to concern about the bad one ,  only to concern  about the teachers and the school herself.
