有冇人收到教統局電話

EMB had phoned to my home last week twice but I was not at home.  She was really verifiying the address  since she did not call my mobile phone.  

My father answered her the only question on the second phone call - double check the address.  After that, she left her telephone number (direct line)to my father to call her back in case we had any question.



The telephone number I guessed is belonged to EMB since the first seven number is the same as the main line number of EMB(SPAS) at HK Island.  

I called her back on this Monday since I wanted to know the reason of checking.  The answer was a formal reply that "I was instructed to call you to verify the information.  And, don't forget to go to the applied school to see the result on 11/20"


In my opinion, I think the phone call doesn't mean anything since I know my daugther's success rate in the 1st round is very very low.

Which net do you belong?  Some people said EMB will randomly check the address in some nets e.g. net 41.

I heard about EMB only call to the home telephone, not mobile.   But what happen if the guardian is not home ?  Can they justify that is a "ture" or "fake" address without reaching anybody?   Most of the parents need to work in day time !!!

我今早都收到教統局的電話, 佢係打我手提電話搵我, 同我confirm吓個地址, 仲叫我11/20去睇結果. 我問我報嗰間學校係咪將所有同分申請送比佢地抽籤, 佢話係. 差d衝勳到想問埋結果, 但當然無啦. 因為明知問咗佢都唔會答. 不過起碼知道呢間學校係公平咁送比教統局抽, 唔係自己選. 本來都放低咗, 平常心等結果, 今日收到呢個電, 心情又有d緊張.

I received call from EMB at around 7:00pm on this Tuesday for address checking. I also queried why they call in such a late time after office hour?  She claimed that she called once in the day time before but cannot reach us.  I also wondered if this is really from EMB, but since they only asked about the address and name of my kid and no more,  and she had given her phone number for us to further contact if necessary, I guess it's ok to answer.

Personally, don't think there would be any linkage between phone call and draw results. If there is linkage and as per some of you's guess that it implies I'm sucess, I also hope so.

Think about a question.

Do the primary schools send the information of the failed applicants to EMB?  

If yes, is it waste of manpower to check the failed applicants?



However, don't be so rational.  Our Gov't usually do the things which are different from the people think.

According to the info released by my target school, the draw after mark calculation will be conducted on 17/11 but I receive the call from EMB on Tue (14/11).

My guess is that EMB is doing their checking work for the coming lucky draw, that is the 2nd round draw.

But don't forget we need to submit the new application form on the 2nd round draw if the 1st round is failed.

應該都係，因為第一round 都唔計地址分，EMB冇理由呢個時候check address，是都等大抽獎先啦。
