Another question is: what is the culture of IS students? Culture means their ways of life. Referring to the catchment area, I would expect that they are from higher class family, that is, educated parents with high income.     

With the quotation from another disscussant:
"Re: 哪間國際學校好呢？  
Island School 比較好, 外國家庭多,反比富有的中國家庭樸實.", I would like to know if this is the case. Do they and their family lead a simple (樸實) life? How about their social life and activities after school? Do you think a kid from an ordinary family is OK to study there? Is it easy to assimilate him/herself into school-mates?

everyone thought RC has a stronger chinese course just like they used to be in Pheonox but I did not get this feeling again at all at my visit last week to the school as no chinese books, posters were displayed in dominant place. So I would think RC is still very much close to ESF school while ISF seem to be more bilingual.

My daughter is now studying Primary 6 (born in 1995), in a Band 1 local school located in Shamshuipo. She is on the top 10 among 160. As we live in Shatin, I know SC is very good but how about RC? Other than confident, any other tips during interview? How do the school evaluate the children for admission?

SC stands for Shatin College, one of the ESF secondary schools.

My son is now studying in RC. But we might be considering moving to HK Island side later and therefore might be exploring ESF schools there. From what you said, IS would be an ideal choice then. Can you let me know where is the catchment area of IS ? And, would it be more difficult than the other ESF school on Island side ? Which would be the second to IS then ?

If I want to apply for IS, do I need to move to its catchment area first ? But it's risky what if my son fails the assessment after we moved ?

IN WIS, students do not have designated classrooms for their own classes, they need to take their school bags to attend different classes in different rooms.  This is just like studying in Universities.

Is this the same in other ESF secondary schools?  Is this because there are not enough classrooms?

For 6th form, this might be the case but I doubt that it would be the case for lower secondary forms.

I dont think its to do with not having enough classrms but because of the system they designate differnet rooms according to the depts.
e.g. language dept takes up blk 1, maths take up blk 2 etc. hence they tend to want students go to thier blks for lessons, but I do appreciate this type of arrangements because the kids will be walking around school and it keeps them awake.

I will like to apply for ESF Primary and understand that it depends on the living zone. My question is,  I got a house in Clearwaterbay and Beacon Hill, which area of ESF should I apply? According to some parents info. ESF CWB waiting list s very long, therefore I shall use the Beacon Hill zone instead? Many thanks!!!!

My son was born in November 2001, but he is K2 now, if I want to apply ESF or RC for him, should I apply year 1 2007 or year 2 2007 for him, but his standard just K2
