Yes, teachers and even famous priests, as they know this is a real Christian school. The school take care of each individual student's needs and talents very well.

One good thing that my friend (who is a secondary school teacher and has a daughter studying in Kau Yan) told me is that the school has its own kitchen and chef and therefore the kids do not need to eat lunch boxes. They will have soup, main course and fruit. No snack at recess but bread. Also, finish most homework at school so that parents do not need to struggle with them on this at home. ANother parent also told me that they usually have exam before holidays so that kids and parents can enjoy the holidays without worrying about exam.

I'm really impressed by the food they served us.  After all the interview, it's the one and the only one school that serve us with food after interview.  It's a big relax especially after the process of interview.  It makes me feel the school is very concerned about the others and they do their best to make us feel easy during a stressful interview.  But one thing I worry is the time getting on school bus in morning as I live quite far away from the school, ie Quarry Bay.  I worry my girl has to wake up too early!

Yes the serving lunch with its own kitchen is a good point, we should care about children's health as well, not just academic performance. Kau Yan is really patient to "lack behind" students, in fact it is quite a small school, with about 540 students, giving chance for students and teachers to have closer contacts.I also has a teacher friend who commented Kau Yan as a good school. In a sense, I think the comment is not referring particularly to academic but to raising children in a caring and loving enviroment, preparing them to be a self-esteemed person and have solid christianity moral values.
Ckwliu: the space is a concern.. yes too small esp compare to new schools, there is nothing can be done. They sometimes will use the church for assembly though. I don't know what you mean by "crazy parents", do you mean those who push and care only for academic excellence? I think for most parents who choose Kau Yan are those who appreciate Kau Yan's stress on children's character development and learning atmophere. Although I know they also put serious effort on student's academic  performance in higher grades (p.4-p.6). Actaully, the top ones are really not bad. And language teachers are of high standards.

My friend live in Taikoo Shing and has her two kids in Kau Yan. I understand it is the school's agreement with school bus company that no student should be picked up 1 hour before the school hour (you see, they really take care of kids well). My friend's kids get on school bus about 1/2 hour before school time. It's acceptable, I think. Another friend who lives in Pofulam takes almost an hour to arrive school as the school bus has many stops on the way. May be u can check with the school. They are helpful and can address your concern.

It seems that there are no. of advantages to take Kau Yan. In fact, we need to reply the acceptence before 28/10 with $1200 cheque. Are you all going to take this school definitely , I am just curious to ask cause $1200 is not a small amount and I think KY is the most earliest school to make such response.   Other Private school and DSS will release the acceptance result in November.... I am still considering......

My son will still have 2 more schools to interview this weekend. I will seriiously consider after finish all interview. In addition, I will also hear my son's comment becuase he is the one to study for 6 years.  I think at least he also likes the school.   
Again, KY in my impression is quite good and I did talk with the teachers during the school visit, they are nice and helpful.....

I didn't apply this school.  My decision was made after visit this school and talk to their teacher.  My impression is very personal and DON'T take into serious.  When visit, the principal and teacher give me the impression is like a sales especially selling their 聯繫secondary school.  They failed to show their initiative in education.  When asking more details on their teaching method for kids with different levels, they by-pass it or talk some flowerish words.  As being visited different schools, I finally make up my mind.  Because if I pay such high (comparative speaking) school fee, why I don't choose St. Paul Co-ed or other famous school.  It seems more worth of money.  

It's really my personal comment and have no impression to discourage other moms.

Definitely, if SPCC or SP Boy finally accepts my son , I will choose them, however , the chance is less than
1/10...... we may not be so easy to get into so called famous school.

Hi, ckliu, thanks for your information.
I heard CKY is quite good, but I don't apply cause I hope my son can study in the place where close to our home. ( to save travelling time and money )   
What is GT? Sorry just want to know. Curious only.
Anyway how many Primary school you are totally applying for.... I apply 5 for my son.
My son will have SPCC and RC on this Saturday.
