My son attended the interview of this school last year. It took 10mins waiting time and about 20mins for interview. Not sure if it will be the same this year.

Right... I myself studied in an "old" Catholic girls' school and GUESS those Catholic single-sex schools are still staying "that traditional"... ha ha ha.

I believe all Catholic schools have one characteristic in common - they are "very" religious: they pray and sing hymns together when they meet (e.g. morning / afternoon assemblies) and they have masses all the time.  My view is, Catholic schools should be very ideal for Catholic families.

Nowaday, all edu prefer creative and dont like to push hard or under pressure.  Some parents like happy school life and some like tranditional...

It is a trandiional school as I know.  You must consider your kids can be suitable or not.  Otherwise, low marks students cannot stay long in this school.  Today, any changing that I dont know.  Pls advise some parents who have kids in this school.

Not only good in eng. All Father in church can speak well cantoness too and they are very kind with love.

Such as my sister's son is studying in Rosehill , also need high eng standand.  Her son needs to have a eng tuitor to advance his eng.speaking

My son is a P.5 student in RC.
The school did interview the parents & the boy at the 1st round (around 10 mins). They will ask a number of questions about your family. After that, your son will be grouping with other 3-4 boys for some testings, say puzzles, IQ tests, questions, 時事, etc. Therefore, your boy has to show his confidence and be smart at the 2nd round coz he is compared with 4 competitors.

Actually, RC teaches the students according to their level except English. P.5 students use 6A text book. Also, they have Eng Maths. As I know, even 喇沙doesn't have Eng Maths. But it can let the students to adopt their secondary school level easily. I don't think RC is too pushing. The volume of homework is reasonable. However, I have to admit that my son's homework is far more than before this year. He could finish all the homework in 1-2 hours from P.1-4. However, he needs to spend more time on his homework every day. Also, from this year, RC has 3 tests & 3 exams a year. Before, they only have 2 tests & 2 exams every year. My son has 1 Eng dict & 1 Chi dict every week. Small test every 2-3 weeks. Besides, you have to prepare to spend quite a lot of time for different kind of projects.

I got 3 place for interview on 14 Oct, from 9am to 12pm St Jo. RC and GT sane datem in the morning. be a supperman , hope can fly in the sky.

Do you think this is a good colledge than others DDS? It also has secondary school.

They didn't say so.  They only said in the application documents that they will give applicants born in 2001 a priority jar ma...

My view is, this school is "not bad" (in standard) and the major advantages include: (1) it has a secondary school; (2) it's not that expensive.

(1) and (2) are really attractive to parents

Oh wait... sorry... you got a good question!  Maybe we should check the documents again...

I am sure it mentioned "2001" but I am not 100% sure whether it said "born in 2001" or "born in or before 2001".

My copy is not with me now.  I'll check it later...

[ok checked - kids born between 9/2000 - 8/2001 will have priority.  sorry sorry.]

I think there are not many applicant becasue I sent the form at noon so easy.  Not like other DDS , spend a half day for waiting.......Now a lot of diff type of DDS in HK, most of parents take their creative learning rather than tranditional.  Some mum told me RC is not good enough now.

Athough the campus is quite old , I think this is one the best school with higher eng. level  coz near my office and I can have lunch with my son everyday. And take him to HK garden for playing after school, also it is near the Bristish Council for his eng study.

My son is catholic big boy at Feb2001. will he get pass easily?

Hi all,

My son's interview will be at 9:00 am.  I've got another one in St. Jo (Kwun Tong Road) at 4:00 pm.  Hopefully can attend both without crash.

My number is 2xx.  Seems the no. of applicant is >200.

9pm St Joseph, 11am RC , I think it is very rush for me on this day.   GT at 12pm I changed into 5:30pm yet.

Depand on the result of P6, but I know P5 is learning P6 math and eng.   Most of them can direct go to the same school if passed all papers, may be some will go St Joseph or King's colledge  or QC ...other famous school.

My friend is the old boy in this school, graduated in Poly U. I just know he is a part-time eng teacher .  Anyway, his eng is very good sence with high standard.

Are you asking me?

I have just GT in the first round and they offered my son a place in Mongkok but I turned down after due consideration.  (my hubby don't like MK at all).

I have also applied Salesian in Chai Wan, RC and St. Jo.  I target those Catholic private schools for my son.

We are on the same boat.  I changed GT interview in afternoon 5:30 yet.  So we have enough time in RC, but GT students are quiet actictive , right?  Catholic school is more tranditional.   

Salesian 's interview is on next sat , right? Our time is 1:15pm  .  A tranditional english school , right?
