It's good that your assigned interview date is 10 Nov, then it will not crash with Kentville's interview dates (if you plan to apply for Kentville for your child).
Although it's stated in the letter that only 1 parent could accompany the child during the St. Catherine's interview, my husband and I both went into the interview room with my daughter last year. The teachers told us to go into the interview room together. It's a pleasant experience at St. Catherine's interview. Questions to the children are challenging though. But don't worry, your children will be able to handle. Lots of surprises.

I selected the interview in English last year because my child can only speak and understand English. My child was not born in between Sept to Dec though.  I was interviewed by Ms. Scott and I saw all the interviewers in the English section are Caucasian. The interviewer will ask the parent questions after they finish asking your child. It seems like they ask the same questions every year. They ask me why do you choose St. Catherine? What is your expectation of your child and what is your expectation from the school? Who usually take care of your child at home? How long do you spend time with your child? What do you do with your child during the day and during weekend?

另外, 我都係有寄victoria, 佢地寄左份application form比我, 我想問下填完後, 係要親身交去定係可以寄返去比佢地都得?

各位有經驗既mami,

if the interviewer asked "why u choose  st.Catherine" , or what is yr expectation fm the school? what should I answer ???  how could I answer this question would be more appropriately!

How challenging were the questions to your child?  Pls kindly advise more details.  Did you choose Cantonese or English for the interview?  My child is a small girl (Oct 2004), not sure if she can handle those questions.

I also choose English as the medium for the interview, too.  It's coz although my son can understand Cantonese... he always answers in English... and he can understand our instructions in English too.

So, do the parents also answer the questions in English as well?

Of course the parents need to answer questions in English too! All the interviewers were Caucasian last year, ....only from what I saw. Hence, it would be better to have the interview in Chinese if you can not be sure whether your child will speak English or Chinese or both. The interviewers do not mind if your child answer in English even if you select the interview in Chinese. They understand it anyway..but not if she is a Caucasian.

My daughter is a 'Big B', therefore, questions asked might be a bit different from questions to 'Small B'. Anyway, you may look at the following questions from last year as reference.
你的名字是什麽？
今年幾多歲？
指著父母，問是誰人？或誰人帶你來學校？
圖畫配對。給小朋友一張有８個圖的紙咭，再給三兩張小咭, 每張小咭都有一張與大咭相同的圖畫, 請小朋友放在大紙咭適當位置上。
考聽覺分折, 枱上有4 個入有不同份量沙的小杯, 老師手上亦有一個, 老師搖動手上的杯, 接著小朋友要分別搖動前面的4個杯,然後找出相同聲音的一隻交給老師。(this is what I called the challenging task. I don't think I would be able to do this when I was 2 years old.)
給小朋友一些動物,然後問佢知不知道什麼是在水裏游,什麼是在天上飛。(this is not easy neither. I guess the teacher will only ask the 'small B' to name the animal.)
眼、耳、口、鼻的用途。(another difficult question. I believe that this is for 'Big B'. Teacher will only ask the 'small B' to name the 眼、耳、口、鼻)
Questions to the parents are the same as mentioned by the other parent in previous message.
幼兒何時開始説話和走路？能否自行進食或上廁所？
爲什麽選擇這所學校？
Something like that.
